Left behind in Kabul. Alone. He waited 47 days. K-9 Chaos was not a dog who did his job. He was a dog who had DECIDED, completely, permanently, without reservation, that Lieutenant Marcus Webb was coming back for him. No matter how long it took. At Hamid Karzai International Airport, Kabul, on the morning of August 30th, 2021, a three-year-old Belgian Malinois sat in an empty aircraft hangar. The last American plane had left six hours ago. The evacuation was over. Chaos had been left behind. Not intentionally. The chaos of the withdrawal. The panic. The rush. Webb had been separated from Chaos during the final evacuation. Put on a different plane. Told Chaos would be on the next flight. There was no next flight. Chaos survived the first day alone. Waiting at the hangar where Webb had left him. Chaos survived the first week. Scavenging food from abandoned military supplies. Chaos survived 47 days in Taliban-controlled Kabul. Alone. Hiding. Waiting. Because Chaos survived on the belief that Webb wouldn't leave him forever. Back in the United States, Webb was losing his mind. Filed reports. Called congressmen. Contacted rescue organizations. Went on the news. "I left my dog in Afghanistan," he said on CNN, his voice breaking. "I left my brother. And I'm going to get him back." The military said it was impossible. Kabul had fallen. Taliban controlled the airport. No way to extract a dog. Webb didn't care about impossible. He contacted Pineapple Express, a veteran-run extraction operation. Gave them Chaos's last known location. Sent photos. Videos. Anything that could help. For 47 days, Webb didn't sleep. Didn't eat properly. Just waited for news. On October 16th, 2021, his phone rang. "We found him," the voice said. "We found Chaos." A rescue team had infiltrated Kabul. Used Webb's intel. Found Chaos still at the hangar. Still waiting. Forty-seven days later. Chaos was emaciated. Dehydrated. Traumatized. But alive. The extraction took three days. Smuggling Chaos out of Taliban-controlled territory. Through checkpoints. Through danger. But they got him out. On October 19th, 2021, Chaos landed at Dulles International Airport. Webb was waiting on the tarmac. When they opened the crate, Chaos didn't move. Stared at Webb like he was seeing a ghost. "It's me, brother," Webb said, kneeling down. "I came back. I promised I'd come back." Chaos stepped out slowly. Walked to Webb. Collapsed into his arms. The reunion video went viral. Seventeen million views in three days. But what people didn't see was what happened after. For six months, Chaos wouldn't sleep unless Webb was in the room. Wouldn't eat unless Webb fed him. Wouldn't go outside unless Webb went first. "He's terrified I'll leave him again," Webb said in an interview. "And I don't blame him. I left him once. In the worst place. At the worst time. He waited 47 days for me. And I'll spend the rest of my life making sure he knows I'm never leaving again." Three years later, Chaos still sleeps with his head on Webb's chest. Still follows him everywhere. Still making sure Webb doesn't disappear. K-9 Chaos. Survived 47 days alone in Kabul. Extracted by heroes. Reunited with his handler. What did Charles actually do? He praised NATO in front of its loudest critic. He championed climate action in front of a climate denier. He called for interfaith dialogue during an administration that has banned citizens from Muslim-majority countries. He praised checks and balances on executive power to a room full of lawmakers who have been unable to exercise them. He referenced the Middle East crisis that is currently straining the alliance he was there to celebrate. He defended the Royal Navy after Trump publicly insulted it. And he did all of this while receiving standing ovations, bipartisan laughter, and a dinner invitation.

Zionism is a Godless movement created by people who abhorred and wanted to eradicate Judaism. Judaism is around for more than 3,000 years. The Torah is our guide, our beating heart and what makes us ‘proud’ to be Jewish. How can Zionism, which represent the very opposite of basic Torah values, represent the Jewish people? His name is Mohammad Aamir Khan. On the night of February 20, 1998, his mother asked him to buy medicines from a shop in Old Delhi. He was 18 years old. He never made it to the shop. Men in plain clothes stopped him on the street. He did not know they were police officers. They took him to an abandoned building. For seven days, he was held in illegal custody. He was tortured. He was forced to sign blank sheets of paper. Then the Delhi Police Special Cell produced him in court and charged him with 19 counts of bombing across Delhi, Ghaziabad, Rohtak and Sonepat between December 1996 and October 1997. He was presented to the media as a terrorist. His family was never informed. They spent days searching police stations before finding out what had happened. He spent 14 years in prison. Through torture. Through solitary confinement. He watched case after case fall apart in court as evidence was shown to be fabricated. In 2012, he was acquitted in 17 of 19 cases. Two cases remain pending. He had already served more time in jail than the maximum sentence he could have received even if convicted on all charges. He walked out of prison in January 2012. His father had died while he was inside. His mother had suffered a stroke so severe she no longer recognised him when he walked through the door. The National Human Rights Commission directed the Delhi government to pay him compensation. The amount was Rs 5 lakh. No officer from the Delhi Police Special Cell was charged. No one was suspended. No inquiry was ordered. He wrote a book about what was done to him. He called it Framed As A Terrorist. My 14 Year Struggle To Prove My Innocence. He now helps other wrongfully accused prisoners navigate the system that destroyed him. India gave him Rs 5 lakh and called it justice. Follow for real stories India never makes headlines about.

“In my youth I made it a rule not to drink a drop of alcohol before lunch. Now that I am no longer young, I keep to the rule of not drinking a drop before breakfast.” Winston Churchill was the only British Prime Minister ever awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature. Reading him, you realize that to be a brilliant writer you don’t need to write long books — and to be a true philosopher, you don’t either. Here are some of his quotes: One. If you’re going through hell — keep going. Two. You have enemies? Good. That means you’ve stood up for something in your life. Three. Every crisis is a new opportunity. Four. A smart person doesn’t make all the mistakes himself — he gives others a chance too. Five. The best argument against democracy is a five-minute conversation with the average voter. Six. Success is the ability to go from one failure to another without losing enthusiasm. Seven. A kite rises highest against the wind, not with it. Eight. A man who never changes his mind is a fool. Nine. When eagles are silent, parrots begin to chatter. Ten. Power is a drug. Anyone who has tried it even once is poisoned by it forever. Eleven. Do not wish for health and wealth — wish for luck. On the Titanic, everyone was rich and healthy, but only a few were lucky. Twelve. A lie travels halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on. Thirteen. Politics is almost as exciting as war, and quite as dangerous. In war, you can only be killed once — in politics, many times. Fourteen. My tastes are simple. I am easily satisfied with the best. Fifteen. If you want to have the last word in an argument, tell your opponent: “You may be right.” Sixteen. The greatest advantage comes to those who make their mistakes early enough to learn from them. Seventeen. People are very good at keeping secrets they do not know. Eighteen. War is when innocent people die for the interests of others. Nineteen. The greatest lesson in life is that even fools are sometimes right. Twenty. It is far better to bribe a person than to kill him — and far better to be bribed than killed. Twenty-one. It is easier to rule a nation than to raise four children. Twenty-two. We live in an age of great events and small men. Twenty-three. Nothing earns authority like calmness. Twenty-four. The best way to ruin a relationship is to start trying to “sort it out.” Twenty-five. When two people fight, the third one wins. Twenty-six. If you kill a murderer, the number of murderers does not change. Twenty-seven. A pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees opportunity in every difficulty. Twenty-eight. You will never reach your destination if you stop to throw stones at every barking dog. Twenty-nine. A nation that forgets its past loses its future. Once, during a speech, Churchill was asked: — Isn’t it pleasing to know that every time you give a speech, the hall is packed? He replied: — It is, very much so. But every time I see a full hall, I cannot help thinking that if I were not giving a speech but being led to the gallows, the crowd would be twice as large.

No, a ceasefire has never truly been more than a name without meaning… In Gaza, lives are still being taken, and children are still carried on shoulders instead of carrying their dreams. More than one hundred children have been killed, despite all the talk of a so-called truce… as if words are spoken to obscure the truth, not to protect it. Here, the question is no longer whether there is commitment, but when there ever was any. It is a long history of broken promises and agreements signed only to be crushed under the weight of bombardment, until it has become painfully clear that people are asked to believe in something they have never seen realized. In Gaza, the truth is as visible as the smoke: what is called a ceasefire does not stop the bleeding, and what is called peace does not protect a child. There, it is not only patience that is being tested… but the humanity of the entire world.
