PPPD divers are currently assisting with a vehicle extraction from a lake within CB Smith Park. All occupants of the car were safely removed, and the cause of the crash appears to be accidental. Traffic inside of the park should not be impacted.

UPDATE: 19-year-old Fabian Valentino Galvez of Miami has been taken into custody for battery. After detectives released the Need To Identify flyer, several tips came in which confirmed his identity. Today Pembroke Pines detectives located Galvez and safely took him into custody.

UPDATE: People stopping to look at the Everglades fire are causing traffic backup along US-27 and Pines Boulevard. PPPD is requesting that drivers please stay out of the area; cars attempting to stop along the roadway will be directed to move. 1/2

UPDATE: The CB Smith water park has been cleared and no threats have been located. Our investigation into the initial call remains ongoing. The water park will return to normal hours of operation tomorrow (5/3/26).
