@shahartley Sydney Taylor has been playing in Poland and was the MVP there. There’s a bit more pressure associated with being the no. 1 pick, but I think this was more about her getting early fouls than her not being ready to play at this level.

@wbbmayer Adrienne can have her preferences , but AT is a top 5 player in the league because she’s an enigma that can’t be replicated. Why would you recommend a young player modeling an enigma? She is reaching and we we already know this list is media driven and subjective.

If Alyssa Thomas is the 2nd best player in our league, I fear many people who clown our league may be right, ESPN.
Offensively, AT is decent but the Aces literally exposed her limitations in the 2025 finals.
Defensively, AT is a hack. Overrated! When she's not allowed to play bump n hump defense, she's average on defense at best.

Lost me at number 2. If Alyssa Thomas is number 2 in a basketball league, what is up with that league?! What she exhibits is not skilled basketball or anything that should be the standard. I don’t care how many assists she gets; what she plays is not good *basketball*. Additionally, I would never recommend her style of play to young people learning the game.

@DayDreamThis This is a very good example of why you have to train various shots in various scenarios even altering your footwork and release points to accommodate the situation. You can’t always use the same footwork because that’s predictable. She made an awful read here.

I think I may have been MOST impressed with Saylor Poffenbarger.
Maybe she was overshadowed a bit under Maryland's system stacked with solid players, but I saw Saylor as the clear 3rd/4th option on that team.
Clearly, she has embraced her opportunity at the pro level, and she's doing all the LITTLE things!

Lauren Betts thrives in drop coverage, but there were MANY examples of here switching onto smaller players and doing more than just holding her own

@ali284400 This isn’t an example of freedom of movement. It’s an example of good ball pressure. You have to gain an advantage or make a legitimate move. A defender has a right to get their nose to the ball and stop you.

Very impressed with Prosper and McDaniel & Betts defense. Disappointed in Dugalić - first game but a top 10 pick has to be better. Would also like to see Cotie pass more & Citron get to the rim more.
