Congratulations to Pasco High School's Gabriela Whitemarsh WA State Teacher of Year! I could not be more proud in this moment to have representing the heart of the work of educators.

I am privileged to be attending the celebration of the Regional Teacher and Classified Employees of the Year celebration. Our very own Gabriela Whitemarsh is representing ESD 123. We will find out today who is names State Teacher of the Year...stay tuned!

Tonight is the 1st of four consecutive days of celebrating graduations for the Class of 2025. I am incredibly proud to be a witness to the accomplishments of the youth of our community. Another reason why I have the best job ever!

History is being made! PSD has students from Pasco, Chiawana, and Sageview High Schools reporting to the Board about how student voice is influencing the high school student experience as we open the 2025-2026 school year with THREE comprehensive high schools. #OneTeamOneDream

Honored to be "showcasing" PSD's Dual Language program. Every student in our community can start the journey to bilingualism and biliteracy starting in kindergarten at the school closest to where they live. #LanguageisanAsset

So I am sitting at my dinning room table (putting Lego flowers together) and I look up out the window and see...a girl on an electric scooter with a sled tied behind it pulling her brother. Both kids had on helmets! I love living in my neighborhood! I can't stop smiling about it!

So this is happening RIGHT NOW at Pasco High. Such an amazingly talented group of students supported by a dedicated music staff and the community of Pasco. Another reason why I have the best job ever!

The first 4 days of the 2024-2025 school year are under our belts marking the official start of my 9th year as PSD's Superintendent. I am so incredibly grateful to get to be part of a team of amazing people who invest in the youth of Pasco EVERYDAY! #BestJobEver

So I was out visiting classrooms yesterday on the first day of school and a teacher was introducing me to her class. She asked me what year I started teaching. When I said 1996, a student said, "Wow! That was in a different century!" Another reason why I have the best job ever!

Kicking Off the 2024-2025 school year by Celebrating PSD's Superstars with staff and student performances. I tell you..."Pasco's Got Talent!" and it is demonstrated and cultivated by every member of the team every day! I am proud to be on the team.

Attending two Senior Awards Nights honoring the Class of 2024. I finished shaking hands with the Pasco High School Superintendent Eclipse Award winners in time to scoot across town to do the same at Chiawana High School. Another reason why I have the best job ever!

Honored to present Sandra Kerr, owner of Kona Ice, and her husband Grover. WASA's Community Leadership Award for their amazing contributions to Pasco School District and the community of Pasco. They inspire me!

So inspired by this year's Kiwanis Club of Pasco's scholarship award winners. These students have bright futures ahead! I am incredibly proud to say they started their life's journey in Pasco School District. #WearePasco #Classof2024

Thank you to the students at the Pasco Transition Center for treating me to brunch today. The students made crepes and scrambled eggs. One of the students even taught me how to cook and flip crepes!

District staff had lunch at Longfellow Elementary today! It is Pozole Day. The students were gracious hosts. Nothing makes you feel more special than a Kindergarten telling you to "have a nice lunch".
