Thanks to a generous DES family, beginning Monday- students can bring a non-perishable food item to enter a “guess the pumpkin’s weight contest”. Donations go to the food bank, winner gets the pumpkin!

Tomorrow is the first day of school for our students in grades 1-6 with last names that start with the letters A-M!! Thursday students with last names that begin N-Z!

The grade 5/6’s used their mathematical thinking to design this ice wall which we named “Love and Light” because of the light shining through the heart.

Gr. 5/6 students demonstrated careful planning, problem solving, collaboration, & perseverance constructing snow sculptures. They are proud of their finished results including “Covid”, a “Dragon with an Inverted Ice Cream Cone”, and an “Avocado.”

Making good use of all that snow with our skiis!

1/2 Prairie Spirit supports Orange Shirt Day (Sept.30) as a day of awareness about Residential Schools and their impact on Canadian society. Participation in Orange Shirt Day and teaching about Residential Schools supports our aspirational goal...

There some major work occurring on our playground. Are they building piles to jump in? Nope! They are farming! In an exclusive interview, they explained the very systematic process of baling the leaves & their plans to cover and store the bales for winter. #DESlearnseverywhere

What an incredible week at DES! Grade 4 Burgess writing lists of 20 things we should say to each other. Examples include: ”We can do this thing!” ”I like your face! I’m so glad to see you!” ”What’s up?”

Mrs. Cooper is continuing to lead the way in our school, school division and province for teacher and student wellness. We are super lucky to have her in our building every day!
