It absolutely is impossible to live on £12 500 a year. That’s why those whose only source of income is the state pension (just 15% of pensioners) are also entitled to a whole host of other benefits that raise their income to that of a full time worker. See here: x.com/miriam_cates/s…

didn’t even read the rest, 10:1 pay ratio is the dumbest thing i’ve ever heard in my entire life. you could be a CEO, a cooperate lawyer, a top level surgeon, but you can’t earn over 120k because the part time cleaner earns 12k.

🚨 NEW: Ed Davey has called for a "GP Guarantee" requiring all housing developers to fund new GP surgeries or expand existing practises

🚨 NEW: Green leader Zack Polanski will call for policies to end the "affordability crisis" tomorrow - The introduction of a 10:1 pay ratio, whereby the highest-paid employee earns no more than ten times the lowest-paid - Free school meals for all primary and secondary pupils - Universal energy bill support for households and stronger rent controls - A customs union with the EU to cut business costs

@BBCNewsnight @miriam_cates That’s right tackle the easy pickings of pensioners with no other source of income and leave the explosion in those claiming UC, PIP etc . Many of these people only know wealthy pensioners, in the real world living on £12,500 is impossible
