@rugbyexpansion amazing how the media suddenly shuts up about promotion and relegation now Italy are winning games and Wales at the bottom. Shows it was all about getting rid of Italy and not promoting Georgia

It has been completely neglected. Laughably so. It’s grotesque when you look at those numbers. Why not give the ten prem clubs £32m and chuck £10m a year the champs way? You might have one or two queueing up. How has this happened? Seriously, look at those numbers and tell me

The ten teams in the Prem receive £33m per season each from the RFU. An increase from £28m a year in their last deal. The Champ clubs receive had their RFU funding cut from £650,000 a year to around £160,000 in 2021 and it’s stayed the same ever since.

Official at last, English rugby's Premiership has pulled up the drawbridge and left every ambitious club beyond the the elite with nowhere to go. Relegation-promotion sacrificed for the cosy comfort of a closed shop. A shocking decision.

The RFU should be ashamed of itself having abolished promotion and relegation to and from the Premiership.The RFU is betraying the principles of competitive sport.The decision is a kick in the teeth for ambitious clubs and makes many games in the Premiership pointless.
