The next evening, my roommate invited a few friends over. She proudly brought out the cake. Everyone went silent. One friend frowned. “Why does this cake look… crooked?” Another asked, “Did someone sit on it?” I slowly looked away and pretended to be fascinated by the ceiling. Then my roommate burst out laughing. She pointed at me and said, “I knew you’d eat it.” I blinked. “What?” She pulled out her phone and showed everyone a photo she had taken the day before. The cake had tiny candy eyes on top. Mine had mysteriously disappeared after my midnight snack. The whole room turned to look at me. I couldn’t even deny it. To make things worse, my roommate reached into another box and brought out the real birthday cake. “The one in the fridge was just a practice cake I baked,” she said. Everyone laughed so hard they could barely breathe. For the rest of the night, they called me “The Midnight Baker.” I bought everyone ice cream on the way home to make up for it.

My roommate came home carrying a huge chocolate cake. She placed it in the fridge and looked straight at me. “Don’t touch it,” she said. “It’s for tomorrow.” I nodded like the most trustworthy person on earth. Around midnight, I couldn’t stop thinking about that cake. I opened the fridge. “Just one bite,” I whispered. One bite became two. Two became five. Before I knew it, half the cake was gone. I panicked. So I grabbed a knife and reshaped what was left to make it look whole. Honestly, I thought I had done a great job.…..

The trio suing over #BTS's Swim hired the same expert musicologist who failed in the Ed Sheeran and Led Zeppelin trials. He uses the same discredited playbook, claiming common musical building blocks were stolen. Juries rejected his theories then; they likely will now. + #DS_BTS

📰‼️According to the lawsuit and MBW, the 3 producers alleging that "SWIM" is similar to their demo specifically point to one producer on the track—Derrick Milano—who they claim had access to the demo through APG agency. They are NOT accusing and naming BTS or every producer involved of copyright infringement‼️ Their claims are directed at specific individuals they allege had access to the demo, while HYBE is named because, as the distributor/rightsholder, it would be responsible for damages if they were to prevail in the lawsuit. MBW also reported that the plaintiffs contacted HYBE before filing the lawsuit, but the report doesn't make it clear whether HYBE never responded or whether the parties simply failed to reach an agreement before litigation.

Am I the only one who is not happy with the addition of more artists to the show? It means less screentime and less focus on the artists the show has been doing its marketing and PR for months now. And I am not fond of those 'JK's "dream" will come true' remarks either; I think Joon should remind you of his famous answer... if you know, you know. If you are going to call me bitter, just block and pass this tweet. I am just sharing my opinion because I really want this opportunity to be as beneficial for Bangtan as possible. Bye.

Why the Physical Albums Matter It’s easy to dismiss multiple album versions as marketing. After all, collecting has become part of fan culture. But ARIRANG feels different. The three versions don’t encourage comparison. They encourage reflection. Each photobook becomes a different lens through which to view the same songs. Each cover represents one part of BTS’s identity. Each inclusion feels less like merchandise and more like another page in the narrative. Instead of asking fans to choose a favourite version, BTS seem to be asking a much quieter question. “What part of our story speaks to you the most?” For me, the answer was Rooted in Korea. Not because I think it’s the “best” version, but because it reminded me that everything I admire about BTS—their artistry, their global influence, the legacy they’ve built—began with seven young men who never stopped carrying their home with them. Three Versions. One Story. The more I think about ARIRANG, the more convinced I become that these aren’t album concepts. They’re a timeline. Rooted in Korea. Identity. Rooted in Music. Purpose. Living Legend. Legacy. Together, they tell the story of BTS without relying on statistics or anniversaries. Instead, they reduce thirteen remarkable years into three simple truths. “Know where you came from.” “Stay true to what you love.” “Let everything else grow naturally from there.” That’s why I don’t think of ARIRANG as three separate albums sitting on a shelf. I think of them as three chapters of the same book. I happened to buy Rooted in Korea, but I don’t think the point was ever to own every version. The point was to realise that none of them tells the whole story on its own. Only together do they answer the question they quietly ask from the very beginning. “Who is BTS?” Perhaps that’s the quiet brilliance of ARIRANG. It suggests that BTS didn’t become legends by abandoning their roots. They became legends because they never did.

Living Legend: The Legacy At first glance, the title Living Legend makes you think of milestones—sold-out stadiums, record-breaking tours, global influence, and everything the world now associates with BTS. But after looking through this version, I don’t think that’s what it’s trying to celebrate. What immediately stood out to me was what isn’t there. Unlike the other versions, where the photobooks are the centrepiece, Living Legend places greater emphasis on a 32-page lyrical book and a 54-page poster book, almost as if it’s intentionally shifting our attention away from spectacle and back toward the people behind it. Instead of asking us to admire BTS as larger-than-life icons, it invites us to spend time with their words, their thoughts, and the moments that shaped them. The lyrics remind us that before every record they broke, there were stories they wanted to tell. The posters feel less like trophies and more like snapshots of a life lived together. In that sense, this version isn’t about proving why BTS are legends—it assumes we already know that. Instead, it asks us to look beyond the achievements and remember the seven human beings who made them possible. This version is less about the destination and more about the people who walked the entire road. Their legacy isn’t defined by numbers alone, but by the honesty of their art, the years they shared together, and the countless stories that transformed seven young artists into a living legend. This version asks: Who have we become? The answer is the result of everything that came before.

Rooted in Music: The Journey If Korea is BTS’s foundation, then music is the road that carried them beyond it. Long before the sold-out stadiums, Billboard headlines, and global recognition, there were seven young artists gathered in a small practice room, writing lyrics, composing melodies, and believing that their stories were worth telling. They never left their identity behind as they grew—they simply found another language through which to express it. Music became the way they shared who they were with the world. That’s what I believe the Rooted in Music version celebrates. Not the fame or success. The craft itself. One of the most remarkable things about BTS’s discography is that it refuses to stand still. Hip-hop, R&B, pop, rock, EDM, jazz, and even traditional Korean instrumentation, every era sounds different, yet every album remains unmistakably BTS. Like the instruments surrounding them throughout the photobook, this version reminds us that music has always been their language. It has never been confined to a single genre, just as the stories they’ve wanted to tell have never fit neatly into one box. Music became the place where they documented their lives. It held their fears, ambitions, frustrations, love, grief, burnout, their military hiatus, and now, their reunion. Every chapter of BTS exists somewhere within their discography. That’s why this version feels so intimate. Rather than presenting BTS as larger-than-life performers, it focuses on the act of creation itself. The photobook quietly reminds us that every stadium anthem began as a lyric scribbled into a notebook, every record-breaking performance began as a melody taking shape in the small garage where they made music as young rookies, and every unforgettable era began with seven people simply making music together.. This version asks a simple question: What made us who we are? The answer isn’t the awards or records or fame, It’s the music.

Rooted in Korea: The Foundation Every story has to begin somewhere. For BTS, that beginning is Seoul, Korea. Choosing ARIRANG as the album title already says so much before you even hear a single song. Arirang is more than a folk song. Across generations, it has come to represent resilience, longing, comfort, hope, and the enduring spirit of the Korean people. It has survived history because people have carried it forward. Perhaps that’s why it feels like such a fitting title for this album. For thirteen years, BTS have introduced millions of people to the Korean language and culture without ever feeling the need to separate themselves from it. Whether it’s singing predominantly in Korean, wearing hanbok-inspired stage outfits, incorporating traditional instruments into their music, or speaking openly about their heritage, they’ve never treated their identity as something that needed translating before it could be appreciated. The Rooted in Korea version reflects exactly that. The photobook opens with the seven members dressed in simple black suits, standing before Gyeongbokgung Palace in Seoul. The choice feels deliberate. Gyeongbokgung is not merely a beautiful backdrop; it is one of the most enduring symbols of Korea’s history and the Joseon Dynasty. By placing themselves there, BTS seem to ground the album in the place where their own story began. To me, the images quietly say, “This is where we’re from.” Before we became a global phenomenon, before the stadiums, the records, and the accolades, we were simply seven Koreans making music. That interpretation reminded me of SUGA’s verse in “Body to Body”: “B-T-uh, from everywhere to Korea.” Throughout their career, BTS have always brought the world closer to Korea while carrying Korea with them. That’s why the photobook doesn’t feel like BTS borrowing from Korean culture for aesthetic purposes. Instead, it feels as though they’re standing exactly where they’ve always belonged. Every image reminds you that their identity didn’t begin when the world discovered them. It began long before that. Holding this version in my hands, I didn’t feel like I had bought another BTS album. I felt like I was holding the first chapter of BTS’ story. It asks a simple question: Where do we come from? Its answer is equally simple. We began here.
