Ivory Coast grows almost half the world's cocoa. 🤯 Almost every chocolate bar you've ever eaten probably started there. Right now, 700,000 tons of it is sitting in warehouses. Unsold. Unpaid. Rotting. Not because demand disappeared, but because global prices shifted, multinational buyers stopped purchasing, and the farmers who actually grew it have no way to sell to anyone else. ❌ They don't set the price. ❌ They don't choose the buyer. ❌ They don't have access to the market. They just grow the product, hand it off, and hope the system works, but it doesn't always work. Some of these farmers haven't been paid in two months. Some had to destroy their own harvest because it went bad before anyone came to buy it. This is what global trade actually looks like for the people at the bottom of it. The world runs on what they produce, but they have zero direct connection to the economy that profits from it. A farmer in Duekoue can grow a product that ends up on shelves in Paris and New York, but can't sell it to a single buyer without going through a chain of middlemen, government councils, and commodity exchanges in cities he'll never set foot in. When any one link in that chain breaks, he's the one who doesn't eat. This is the gap nobody talks about. Not access to information. Not access to the internet. Access to trade. The ability to participate directly in the economy your labor already supports. That's what needs to change.

This is exactly what we've been saying. And it's refreshing to hear someone say it this clearly. Africans have been traders for thousands of years. The markets, the hustle, the drive, none of that is new. The problem was never the people. It was that the modern financial system was built without them in mind. And then someone looked at the gap and called it a cultural issue instead of what it actually is. An infrastructure failure.

The idea that Africans are inherently socialist is flat out wrong. Our history proves the exact opposite.

Starlink gets them the signal. That's step one and it matters. Step two is giving them something to do with it. Right now 900 million people have a phone and no bank account. They can get online but they still can't open an account, receive a payment from across the world, or store value without someone taking a cut or a currency collapsing underneath them. Connectivity without financial infrastructure is a map to a city you're not allowed to enter. That's step two. Building the rails for people to actually participate in the global economy. Send, receive, trade, hold value on their own terms. No middleman deciding who gets access. And we're doing it on a blockchain powered by renewable energy. Because connecting the next billion people to the global economy shouldn't cost the planet in the process. Signal first. Access second. Sustainable from the ground up.

Elon Musk just explained how Starlink moves the GDP of entire nations. The formula is so simple it should embarrass every development agency on the planet. Musk: “GDP is a function of average productivity per person.” Productivity per person goes up. GDP goes up. That is the whole equation. Everything else is decoration. And connectivity is the single largest lever on Earth for pushing that number. Musk: “If you don’t have access to the internet, or it’s too expensive or low bandwidth, you cannot access the MIT lessons and you can’t sell the goods and services that you produce.” No internet means no global knowledge. No global markets. No ability to sell to anyone beyond your village or learn from anyone outside of it. The penalty is total. And it has nothing to do with the person serving it. There is a child alive right now who is as intelligent as anyone who has ever walked the halls of MIT. She does not know it. Nobody around her knows it. Because the coordinates of her birth have no connectivity. No library. No signal. No link to the world that would show her what she is. She will grow old inside a ceiling that geography built for her. Not because of talent. Not because of effort. Because of a satellite that had not been launched yet. Musk: “Internet connectivity is certainly a candidate for one of the things that would do more to lift people out of poverty than anything else.” Traditional infrastructure takes decades. Fiber has to be laid. Towers have to be built. Permits have to be approved. Capital has to be attracted to regions that cannot attract it. Starlink bypasses all of it from orbit. No cables. No permits. No waiting for a government to prioritize your village. A dish goes up. Isolation ends. Someone who could not access a textbook yesterday downloads MIT’s entire curriculum today. Someone who could only sell to neighbors starts selling to the planet tomorrow. That is not an upgrade. That is a different life. Musk: “Starlink will actually move the GDP of countries. Like it’s gonna be that kind of thing.” He said it like a feature update. But read it again. Move the GDP of countries. Not a company’s revenue. Not an industry’s output. The gross domestic product of nations. Shifted by one constellation. The telecom industry spent decades deciding which regions were profitable enough to connect. The rest were written off. Starlink does not make that calculation. It covers the planet. Every farmer. Every welder. Every kid with a clear view of the sky. The minds that will cure diseases, solve energy, and build things we cannot yet name are already alive. They are already thinking. They have no signal. Starlink is the first technology in human history that can reach them at the speed of deployment instead of the speed of bureaucracy. And when those minds come online, they will not change their own lives. They will change the trajectory of the species. That is what Musk actually built. Not a telecom company. The largest unlock of human potential ever launched from a single network.

Everybody wants to leave the North for Accra to “find opportunities”… But what if the real opportunity is where people are running from? 👀 This young woman stayed. While others were chasing jobs, she built a SYSTEM: 👉 Buying tractors 👉 Training farmers 👉 Renting to smallholder farmers Today? Farmers are looking for HER. Money is coming to HER. 💭 She was discouraged. People doubted her. But she didn’t move—she moved DIFFERENT. 🔥 Let’s be honest: Is unemployment really the problem… or are we ignoring the opportunities around us? 🇬🇭 While many are relocating… A few are building—and winning. 💬 This might be uncomfortable: Are we lacking opportunities… or just vision?

@LimeZ10040746 @ChinaNow24 The law exists, yes. The problem is enforcement. Chinese-flagged vessels have been documented destroying coral reefs for giant clams across the South China Sea, well outside Chinese waters. Having a law on the books and actually stopping it are two very different things.

@PTT_Blockchain @ChinaNow24 FYI: Harvesting giant clams in China is a serious fucking crime under Article 341 of the Criminal Law . If the court deems the circumstances "especially serious": 10+ years in prison, plus heavy fines or confiscation of all your property. Don't be an idiot.

We are politically neutral. Full stop. We don't have a side. We have a mission, and that mission is getting people who've been locked out of the global economy a way in. We're a Singapore-incorporated, MAS-regulated blockchain company building real infrastructure for real people. The facts in our post are sourced and verifiable. We'd encourage anyone to look into them.

@SharpestShoot97 @ChinaNow24 When people have real access to the global economy, they start caring about the environment around them. That's what we're building toward every single day. A blockchain system that brings people in instead of leaving them out. The work is real.

We'd say it's more accurate to point at the Chinese government's policies and their state-subsidized fishing fleet than to paint an entire country of 1.4 billion people with one brush. A lot of Chinese citizens care deeply about the environment. The problem is the government operating 17,000 vessels with zero accountability.

@tian_zhendong @ChinaNow24 This has nothing to do with who's saying it. It's about making sure credit goes to the people actually doing the work and facts stay accurate. The Ocean Cleanup is a Dutch nonprofit. That's just what it is.

"The Chinese are cleaning up the entire Great Pacific Garbage Patch using ten systems based on System 03." That was the original post. It directly credits China for the cleanup. China is not operating System 03. China is not operating ten systems based on it. The Ocean Cleanup, a Dutch nonprofit, built and operates System 03. China has zero involvement.

This is one of the most honest things anyone has posted on this app. Be human first. Lead with empathy. Then when the conversation is ready, talk about what actually works. Access to trade and the global economy has done more to lift people out of poverty than any ideology ever has.

I see this happen constantly. Something terrible happens and people blame capitalism. A mother loses her child trying to cross the Mediterranean. She blames capitalism for forcing them to flee. An activist shares her story online and thousands agree: capitalism killed that child. The typical free market defender immediately jumps in with arguments:  “Actually, capitalism is not why your country is poor. It is overregulation and cronyism.” Do you care about people? Because this is completely tone-deaf. This person just lost their child.  Connect with that first. Ask about the child’s name, their story, what dreams that family had. Be human before being an economist. Then later, when the grief is not so raw, we can have a calmer conversation about what actually creates the poverty that drives people to risk those dangerous crossings. I believed in communism once, and I genuinely thought it would help people. I was wrong, but my intentions were good. I changed my mind through running my own business, watching what actually worked versus what sounded good in theory, and paying attention to results instead of ideology. Most people criticizing capitalism are not evil. They see suffering and want it to stop. They have been told capitalism causes that suffering, so of course they oppose it. We win people over by showing we care about the same things they do and then demonstrating that free markets solve the problems better than alternatives.

This is what happens when financial infrastructure doesn't keep up with a growing economy. When access to credit, transparent markets, and competitive lending doesn't exist at scale, prices get set by whoever has the most leverage and everyone else just absorbs the cost. It's not just Ghana. This pattern shows up everywhere the financial system hasn't caught up to the demand.
