@lindajonsson74 I think next year I will have our gr 6 Ss be the mentors! It would be a great way to practice responsibility & follow up. I have always wanted it entirely Ss owned. We’ll see how it goes!

@Mrs_Gilchrist A6 I’ve realized that it’s better to start off the unit & then see what we need to explicitly work on - split screen, writing them down, defining examples as a class, decide what does it look like, sound like.. all helps make it more concrete... and give time for Ss to reflect

@SeanPYPParis @Mrs_Gilchrist @EmmaInMaputo I’ve seen some teachers use “I can” statements and students color in but now that I think about it, the progression should possibly be blank and the students add samples throughout the years

@Mrs_Gilchrist A4: I'm looking forward to investigating @EmmaInMaputo's "I can" statements as criteria is needed. Involving the students themselves is key, so they consider what they can do, what they can't do YET and establish goals to work towards.

@Mrs_Gilchrist A3: we used the same two social skills for Art, PE and unit work in one week: making decisions together and helping your partner succeed. I can definitely improve in scaffolding but giving multiple opportunities in different context definitely gave positive outcomes
