Just completed stage 1 of the TMB. Over 20 kms and 1100m of elevation. Stopped for lunch at an auberge in Bionnassay. Probably should have skipped the 🍷, but when in France 🤷‍♂️. Staying in Les Contamines tonight. Early start tomorrow. 😴 🥾

Arrived in Chamonix on Friday. Yesterday we completed a relatively short hike (500 m elevation) to work out the cobwebs and acclimatize to the elevation here. This morning we begin stage 1 of the Tour du Mont Blanc. 🥾

The past 2 days in Prague have been a whirlwind. Visited the castle, old and new towns the John Lennon wall, the astronomical clock and took a food/cocktail tour. It’s absolutely beautiful here.

Arrived in Prague yesterday. After hotel check in we visited the Charles bridge and searched for the house where my mother/grandparents lived until the war. Fortunately there was only one “house with the bear insignia.” Then off to sample local beer & food. Memories of childhood.

Departing YOW shortly. Spending a few days in Prague to explore my mother’s birthplace. Then to Chamonix to begin the Tour du Mont Blanc, a 170 km hike with packs around the great mountain. We’ll be staying and eating in huts on the mountain. I’ll post pics when possible 🥾

@twitandrewking I had them all. In a pinch my blue and red adidas bag would double as a toboggan.

He was understandably terrified. We talked. I sought out the ranking police officer on scene. The sergeant came to me. I asked him to speak to the man about his fears. He did. A little while later the man was reassured the deceased driver was not his son. His load was lightened. But the dead man was someone’s son.

I covered a fatal crash Friday. The second of its kind in three days. As our crew stood near the scene, an older man came up after overhearing me mention that it was a black BMW that was involved. He told me he hadn’t heard from his son all night. His son drives a black BMW. 1/2

@fordnation That’s a good start Premier. Let’s open up our provincial borders and start replacing American wines and beer with those from BC. That should be a priority for supporting Canadian self reliance. 🍷 🍻

Canada and Ontario didn’t start this trade war with President Trump, but Team Canada is ready to win it. As a first step in our response, Ontario will rip up our contract with Starlink, take U.S. alcohol off LCBO’s shelves and ban U.S. companies from government procurements.
