At the same time, there are a couple things you probably shouldn't feed an alpaca... human foods like chips and candy 🚫🍭🍫 and animal products like eggs, milk, and honey 🚫🥚🥛🍯

Did you know!? Like most farm animals, alpacas eat plenty of hay and grass. But they can also be given small samples of veggies and fruits (like apples, carrots and pumpkins) as a little treat! 🥰🍎🌾

There’s an additional use to only having bottom teeth, alpacas don’t eat up all of the pasture grass like some horses and cows do. This reduces the amount of pasture maintenance farmers need to keep their grass growing!

Did you know!? Alpacas have unusual teeth– with no upper teeth, alpacas can only use their bottom set to eat and chew. The bite is definitely strong enough for eating grass, but it wouldn’t cause serious injury to a human.
