This is where ball knowledge comes into play. Texas A&M played one SEC team that finished in the top half of the standings in the conference, Texas, who they lost to. This means Texas A&M proved they were better on the field that zero of the other Top 8 SEC teams. Given they lost to Texas, an accurate end of season SEC power rating would likely be as follows: 1. Ole Miss 2. Georgia 3. Alabama 4. Oklahoma 5. Texas 6. Texas A&M 7. Vanderbilt To reiterate, Texas A&M beat zero of the teams listed above them, so there’s no real evidence to put them up there. They got lucky with scheduling.
