I don’t get what’s dumb about it. Episode 3 is clearly him meeting with the label to negotiate. Then walking away with his bag, and all the pinnochios getting trucks full of ice, or ice on a plate. wtf does the ice mean? He’s just giving them ice? I think the “icing the kicker” or “freezing accounts” metaphor makes more sense than anything else. You can think it’s wrong but it’s definitely not a schizo stretch, it makes 100% reasonable sense

He’s in the middle of a label dispute and a renegotiation which hinges on the results of the dispute. If you don’t think withholding a sure to be #1 platinum album is something an artist would do for leverage then you’re retarded. Artists have withheld albums before for similar reasons.
