Likely less than $50M for the state. It's not the most minor... but it's pretty freaking minor compared to the major natural disasters.

Northeast Indiana has had smooth sailing my whole life. A few heat waves with multiple days above 95F. A few cold snaps with multiple days below zero. A foot of snow a few times. Localized flooding for those who built in low-lying areas. Since we *could* have a blizzard any year, most everyone just keeps a decent pantry and some sort of alternative heat source like a gas fireplace. 11 Hoosiers died in that 1978 blizzard. Mostly because cars were crap in the 1970s and left them stranded. If another occurs, we're likely far better prepared today. "But my point was, you still have some less than perfect weather to deal with just like the rest of the country." Not "just like the rest of the country". Most of the rest of the country is prone to worse. The entire Southwest is water-insecure. Most of the west is prone to wildfires. Your part of The South, inland far enough to dull most hurricanes, is similar to my part of The Great Lakes, South enough to dull most winter storms.
