@RickWilhel63072 @lady_valor_07 Tipping is not usual in much of Europe, because the wait staff is paid decently. In the States, in Georgia, for example, waitresses can be paid as low as $2.13 per hour, making them rely on tips - however not 40%. The lowest I can see in Canada, is $15 per hour. Big difference.

First off, I live in Europe and find the explosion in the American tipping culture I see here on X to be most dubious. This young lady is requesting a 40% tip on the full bill. Is she also requesting a tip on the tax? Without knowing her hourly wage and other details to put this into proper context, a yes or no is impossible. Somehow, I smell the scent of entitlement.
