Over the past two weeks, we have seen the importance of mangroves in Acul Bay and the threats they pose. Today is a day for solutions.
A healthy nature is our best shield against climate change. Mangroves break up the force of waves, prevent flooding, and enable fishermen to find more food and income.
By protecting and restoring these ecosystems, communities become stronger and safer. This is what we call "Ecosystem-Based Adaptation," and this is what PADF and FoProBiM are doing in the Bay of Acul with support from the Caribbean Biodiversity Fund. 🌊🌱
🎥 Watch this latest video to learn how investing in nature is building a better future for all of us.

🌊 The mangroves of the Bay of Acul are under threat.
Rising sea levels, more intense storms, deforestation and agricultural expansion are accelerating erosion and weakening coastal communities.
When mangroves disappear, nature's protection against storms and floods diminishes.
With support from the Caribbean Biodiversity Fund, PADF and FoProBiM are working with communities to protect mangroves and strengthen coastal resilience. 🌱
