Coming at you with a feel good story this afternoon
Despite several attempts by the owner this little 6 week old kitten needed our assistance this afternoon after squeezing behind the kitchen cupboards
Kitten does not yet have a name but Houdini could be considered 🐈⬛🐾

This morning we are saddened to hear of the passing of two firefighters from Oxford FRS.

Yesterday we had a visit from Padiham Rainbows.
At the end of their visit the Rainbows made their promise & got their badges

Parents.. please educate your children on the dangers of open fires.
You are never quick enough to put it out if it becomes out of control.
This will spread quicker than you can respond

Yesterday we responded to a fire in this nature reserve created by youths who fled the scene on our arrival.
As you can see, temperatures of the embers were in excess of 150 degrees.
The fire was within 100m of our wildfire warning poster

Today we visited @readstjohns to meet reception class.
A credit to their school& families with some wonderful manners demonstrated by all children

The River Calder is in full force this evening & one of our Crew Managers has just asked 2 youths to step away from the waters edge

On 28th September CM Herdman & FF Garvin from Padiham will be joined by staff around the county to undertake a “bit of a challenge”
The team will be Setting travelling around 9 fire stations in our Pennine district…
