@demiurgently Out of curiosity do you have a sense of how this view might apply to homosexual men vs homosexual women

@sean22309887 @TomWright165389 @shlummi @NathanpmYoung Girls nights at clubs were famously free for them because better or worse they were the product
That doesn’t mean that bottle service is cheap tho
English

@TomWright165389 @shlummi @NathanpmYoung Going by the female to male ratio I'm not too sure about that.
English

Keeper claims to be 80% women, which I am confused why they don't say more often.
Jake Kozloski@jakozloski
@NathanpmYoung 80% women

When you actually test women's preferences experimentally, IQ doesn't measurably increase attractiveness at all — physical attractiveness totally dominates across the speed-dates literature.
Stated preferences ≠ revealed preferences.

“Girls like smart guys” is indeed true This is very bad news for a lot of guys since altering your intelligence is extremely difficult/on some accounts impossible

However, being short does reduce your chances of getting a 'yes' after 3 mins of speeddating.

nfseverin@nfseverin1
Being short doesn't mean you're less likely to find a partner. Except if you're one of the ≈10% of men that are below the average height of women - then it's rough out there.

@jt_kerwin “Intensive year long program customizing instruction to student skill levels? 0.11 SDs”
Would be curious to see the reference for this
English

I’ve found it! The single most implausible example of “every intervention raises test scores by 0.1 SDs”!
Intensive year long program customizing instruction to student skill levels? 0.11 SDs
Sit in a different chair in the exam room? 0.089 SDs

Regardless possibly some methodological issues

this is really really great but...why?
i don't see any evidence of this in my life, friends+family, etc, so i have to say i'm inherently distrustful of this data. is it really? and if so, what's causing that?

@ClayRogers66396 @sourhoestarter I would say this paper from him is useful in that it shows early stages of short term and longterm relationships being very similar
He also notes people with high sociosexuality tend to be in more longterm relationships not less
