For instance, if Billy Bishop is going to be expanded to 5x the passengers, it should probably have a direct rail connection to Union and probably to Exhibition.
This would dramatically improve the experience for travelers and reduce the huge traffic that would be caused otherwise. Today, the existing shuttle traffic is so bad that it’s often faster to take the UP from Pearson.
But if we’re going to do that, should we also be looking at what technology we’re using for waterfront rapid transit? Should we really be sticking with an LRT instead of moving to a metro (eg Ontario Line standard?).
Is anyone in the government actually thinking this through? Not clear.
