People keep seeing put Paige on ball. Okay she brings the ball and passes to create the initial action. Ball never touches her hands again because someone shoots. Is she still being passive? Same if she’s off the ball. It doesn’t change anything. The offense has to flow.

Y’all want Paige to be heliocentric, that’s not her mentality. She’s never gonna do that. If the team plays team basketball and plays together everything will work how it should. It’s not about shot hunting. It’s about the flow of the offense.

Atlanta was overplaying everything last night and we rarely went back door and then filled the open space into another action. This was there all night.

imma give credit where credit is due… i had a lot to say about arike’s game last year but i will say it seems like she’s made thoughtful improvements to her game this year. shot selection seems a million times better and the offense flows with her on the court.

@CurryHoops535_ How can you say this and at the same time criticize(not in a negative manner) Paige for trying to get the ball moving? Someone’s gotta get the ball moving otherwise it’ll be the 4 guards playing your turn, my turn. Paige shot hunting would just be one more player not passing.

Multiple things can be true but it all comes down to issues with the offensive structure, not a single player. Arike was not the main issue & she kept them in the game. She can be iso heavy but so are others. There is not enough ball movement & too much tunnel vision as a TEAM.

@metropolismp3 Passing after trying to score and disrupting the actions isn’t the same as getting through your actions and finding good shots.

Atlanta is a very athletic team with good defenders in their starting group. They disrupted initial actions very well and Dallas didn’t counter well enough, they went into 1v1 hoops too soon. 15 assists on 28 FGM. Unacceptable.

Arike is already shot hunting. Paige shot hunting as well would literally kill any offensive flow you try to create. How does Jose balance is the question? Your turn, my turn is a recipe for disaster. We’re gonna need more of a sample size to see what works/doesn’t.
