Islamabad: 14 July 2026. Ms. Michelle Bachelet, candidate for the position of the UN Secretary General, called on Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister House in Islamabad today. Deputy Prime Minister & Foreign Minister Sen. Muhammad Ishaq Dar and Foreign Secretary Amb. Amna Baloch were also present. While welcoming Ms. Bachelet to Pakistan, the Prime Minister reiterated Pakistan’s strong support for strengthening multilateralism as well as for ensuring the central role of the United Nations in addressing global challenges. The Prime Minister called for upholding the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations, faithful implementation of the UN resolutions and international treaties, as well as for achieving balanced progress across all three pillars of the United Nations - peace and security, development, and human rights. He also called for enhanced international cooperation and increased focus on accelerating the implementation of the global development agenda. Ms. Bachelet commended Pakistan's historic and invaluable contributions to the United Nations, and appreciated the country's ongoing contributions to regional and international peace and security.

Pakistan strongly condemns the blatant attacks carried out against the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia last night. Such reprehensible actions constitute a violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and have the potential to further undermine regional peace and stability.  Pakistan reaffirms its unwavering support for the Kingdom’s security and stands in complete solidarity with the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at this critical time. On its part, Pakistan will continue to support all sincere efforts aimed at promoting peace, stability, security, and mutual understanding across the region.

اسلام آباد: 14 جولائی 2026. وزیراعظم محمد شہباز شریف کی زیرِ صدارت کیش لیس معیشت اور ڈیجیٹل ادائیگیوں کے فروغ پر اجلاس آج اسلام آباد میں منعقد ہوا. وزیراعظم نے گزشتہ ایک سال کے دوران پاکستان کی معیشت کو ڈیجیٹل ادائیگیوں پر مبنی کیش لیس معیشت میں تبدیل کرنے کی پیش رفت پر معاشی ٹیم کی کارکردگی کی ستائش کی. اجلاس سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے وزیرِ اعظم نے کہا کہ ملکی معیشت کو کیش لیس نظام پر منتقل کرنے سے پائیدار معاشی ترقی ہوگی اور شفافیت کو فروغ ملے گا. وزیراعظم نے ڈیجیٹل ادائیگیوں کے لیے QR کوڈ استعمال کرنے والے فعال مرچنٹس کی تعداد میں ایک سال کے دوران 300 فیصد اضافہ کرنے پر معاشی ٹیم کو خراجِ تحسین پیش کیا. وزیراعظم نے ہدایت کی کہ مرچنٹس کو QR کوڈ کے ذریعے ڈیجیٹل ادائیگیوں کی جانب راغب کرنے کے لیے آگاہی مہم مزید مؤثر بنائی جائے اور بیرون ملک سے آنے والی ترسیلاتِ زر کو 100 فیصد ڈیجیٹل بنایا جائے. وزیرِ اعظم نے گفتگو کے دوران مزید کہا کہ موبائل بینکنگ ایپ استعمال کرنے والوں کی تعداد ایک سال میں 9 کروڑ 50 لاکھ سے بڑھ کر 13 کروڑ 70 لاکھ ہونا اہم کامیابی ہے. بینک اور مالیاتی ادارے کیش لیس معیشت کے فروغ میں بھرپور کردار ادا کریں. وزیراعظم نے بے نظیر انکم سپورٹ پروگرام کی ادائیگیوں کو ڈیجیٹل نظام پر منتقل کرنے کے اقدام کو شفاف، تیز رفتار اور مستحقین کے لیے سہل قرار دیتے ہوئے سراہا۔ اجلاس میں کیش لیس اکانومی کے لیے اقدامات کی پیشرفت پر بریفنگ دی گئی. بریفنگ میں بتایا گیا کہ جون 2025 سے جون 2026 تک ڈیجیٹل طریقے سے ادائیگیاں موصول کرنے والے مرچنٹس کی تعداد 300 فیصد اضافہ سے 20 لاکھ، 3 ہزار ہو چکی ہے. نادرا کی 99 فیصد ادائیگیاں ڈیجیٹائز ہو چکی ہیں اور کیش ادائیگیاں 71 فیصد سے کم ہو کر صرف1 فیصد پر آ چکی ہیں. بینظیر انکم سپورٹ پروگرام کے ایک کروڑ صارفین کو تمام ادائیگیاں ڈیجیٹل والٹ سے کی جا رہی ہیں.اس وقت موبائل بینکنگ ایپ صارفین کی تعداد 13 کروڑ، 70 لاکھ ہے. اجاس کو مزید بتایا گیا جولائی 2025 سے جون 2026 کے دوران 11.9 ارب ڈیجیٹل ٹرانزیکشن ریکارڈ کی گئیں. گزشتہ سال کے دوران ترسیلات زر کی 92 فیصد رقوم ڈیجیٹل طریقے سے موصول ہوئی ہیں. کیش لیس اکانومی کے حوالے سے تھرڈ پارٹی ویلیڈیشن جاری ہے اور حتمی رپورٹ بمع سفارشات نومبر 2026 میں پیش کی جائے گی. پاکستان بینکنگ ایسوسی ایشن نے ممبر بینکوں کو ڈیجیٹل ادائیگیوں بشمول RAAST نظام کے فروغ کیلئے اہداف دیئے ہیں. اجلاس میں وفاقی وزرا احد خان چیمہ، محمد اورنگزیب، عطاء اللہ تارڑ، شزا فاطمہ خواجہ، علی پرویز ملک، وزیر مملکت برائے خزانہ بلال اظہر کیانی، گورنر سٹیٹ بینک جمیل احمد، چیئرمین نادرا اور متعلقہ اداروں کے اعلیٰ افسران شریک تھے۔

Secretary General of the Muslim World League (MWL), Sheikh Dr. Mohammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, called on Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister House in Islamabad this evening. Deputy Prime Minister & Foreign Minister Sen. Mohammad Ishaq Dar , Members of the National Assembly Ms. Farah Naz Akbar, Ms. Zeb Jaffar and Foreign Secretary Amb. Amna Baloch were also present. The Secretary General was accompanied by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Pakistan H.E. Nawaf Saeed Al Malky. The Prime Minister warmly welcomed Dr. Al-Issa and thanked him for his participation in the OIC Ministerial Conference on Women, held in Islamabad on 12-13 July. The Prime Minister appreciated the invaluable role of the Muslim World League in promoting the true and moderate image of Islam, fostering unity among the Ummah, and advancing the message of tolerance, fraternity, and interfaith harmony across the world. In this regard, he commended the Secretary General's personal leadership in steering the League's global outreach and reaffirmed Pakistan's continued support for its initiatives. The Prime Minister underscored the critical importance of the MWL's advocacy on religious dialogue to deal with the issues confronting the Muslim world today, including the ongoing regional situation vis a vis Iran and the brotherly Gulf states, the plight of Palestinians in Gaza, and other challenges facing Muslim communities around the globe. He recalled Dr. Al-Issa's earlier visits to Pakistan and his numerous contributions, including the hosting of the International Summit on Girls' Education held in Islamabad, and expressed satisfaction over the continued collaboration between Pakistan and the MWL on education, interfaith dialogue, and countering extremism and Islamophobia. The Prime Minister conveyed his respectful regards to The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and his warm good wishes for His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. Dr. Al-Issa thanked the Prime Minister for the warm hospitality extended to him and his delegation and lauded Pakistan's leadership role within the Muslim world. He reaffirmed the Muslim World League's commitment to deepening cooperation with Pakistan across religious, educational, and humanitarian domains. While lauding the Prime Minister for his leading role in the recent regional peace efforts, Dr. Al-Issa also expressed his deep appreciation for the role played by Deputy Prime Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Chief of Defence Forces & Chief of the Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for their untiring efforts and invaluable contribution in the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding. The Prime Minister thanked the Secretary General for his visit and agreed to continue close coordination on shared priorities, including the early completion of ongoing joint projects and initiatives between Pakistan and the Muslim World League.

Doha: 13 July, 2026. Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif undertook a day-long visit to Doha today, to personally convey condolences on behalf of the people and Government of Pakistan, to the leadership and people of the State of Qatar on the passing away of His Highness the Father Amir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. The Prime Minister was accompanied by Former Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Information Minister Atta Ullah Tarar and other senior officials. In Doha, the Prime Minister and Pakistan delegation called on His Highness the Amir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and conveyed heartfelt condolences at the sad demise of the Father Amir. He paid rich tribute to the late Father Amir's visionary leadership, statesmanship, and enduring contributions to Qatar's remarkable transformation as well as to regional peace, stability, and development. The Prime Minister recalled with deep appreciation, the Father Amir's warmth, kindness, and abiding affection for Pakistan, and his many memorable visits to the country over the years. The Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan's steadfast solidarity with the leadership and people of Qatar during this period of profound grief, and prayed that Allah Almighty grant the departed soul the highest place in Jannat-ul-Firdaus and bestow strength upon the Royal family and the Qatari nation to bear this irreparable loss. His Highness the Amir thanked the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and the delegation for the special gesture of travelling to Doha to personally offer condolences, describing it as a reflection of the deep-rooted fraternal bonds between the two brotherly countries and peoples.

Doha: 13 July 2026. Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, accompanied by former Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, arrived in Doha on a one-day visit to the State of Qatar. Upon arrival at Doha Airport, the Prime Minister, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, and the Pakistani delegation were received by Qatar's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence, Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan bin Ali Al Thani. The Prime Minister will proceed to Lusail Palace, where he will meet His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar. During the meeting, the Prime Minister will convey his heartfelt condolences to the Amir of Qatar, the Qatari Royal Family, and the people of Qatar on the demise of the former Amir of Qatar, the late Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar are also accompanying the Prime Minister.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif's Message on the Occasion of Kashmir Martyrs' Day, 13 July 2026. Youm-e-Shuhada-e-Kashmir (Kashmir Martyrs' Day) is observed every year on 13 July to pay tribute to the 22 Kashmiris who embraced martyrdom when the Dogra administration opened fire on peaceful demonstrators in Srinagar in 1931. Their sacrifice marked a defining moment in the political awakening of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and their struggle for dignity, fundamental rights and identity. Kashmir Martyrs' Day also symbolizes the resilience, courage and unwavering determination of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, which have inspired generations, to continue their just struggle for justice and the realization of their inalienable right to self-determination. The readiness of the people to make the ultimate sacrifice for this fundamental right continues to shape and define the historical struggle of Jammu and Kashmir. Despite heavy militarization, continued repression, and persistent human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), the resolve of the Kashmiri people remains unshaken. Arbitrary detentions, suppression of political dissent, restrictions on the media, and attempts to alter the demographic and political landscape of the occupied territory have been widely documented and condemned by international human rights organizations and United Nations human rights mechanisms. Yet, the people of Jammu and Kashmir continue to steadfastly pursue their legitimate aspirations. On this solemn occasion, Pakistan pays homage to the courage, resilience, and sacrifices of all the martyrs of Jammu and Kashmir. Their enduring legacy will continue to strengthen the resolve of generations in the ongoing pursuit of the realization of the inalienable right to self-determination. The Government of Pakistan reiterates its unwavering political, diplomatic, and moral support for the people of Jammu and Kashmir. We stand in complete solidarity with their just struggle for the realization of their inalienable right to self-determination, as enshrined in the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions. Lasting peace and stability in South Asia remain contingent upon the peaceful resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions.

Deeply saddened by the tragic loss of life and widespread devastation caused by the severe floods and landslides in Bangladesh. Deeply saddened by the passing away of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Former Amir of the State of Qatar. The Father Amir, late Sheikh Hamad was a great leader and statesman whose wisdom, foresight and dedication to public service, transformed Qatar into a modern, prosperous and globally respected nation. His enduring contributions to the welfare of his nation and its people, as well as to regional peace, development and international cooperation, will be remembered for generations to come. On behalf of the people and the Government of Pakistan, as well as on my own behalf, I extend our heartfelt condolences to my Dear Brother the Amir of Qatar His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the distinguished members of the Al Thani family, the Government, as well as the brotherly people of Qatar on this solemn occasion. وزیراعظم محمد شہباز شریف کا عالمی یومِ آبادی 11 جولائی 2026 پر پیغام. پاکستان آج عالمی یومِ آبادی پر اقوام عالم کے ساتھ ہم آواز ہو کر آبادی کی پائیدار ترقی اور خوشحالی کی ضامن ذمہ دارانہ منصوبہ بندی کے عزم کی تجدید کرتا ہے۔ آبادی کی ذمہ دارانہ اور دانشمندانہ منصوبہ سازی اور نظم و نسق ہی فلاحی معاشرہ کی بیناد ہے۔وسائل سے متناسب آبادی سہولیات کی منصفانہ تقسیم اور خوشحال عوام کی ضمانت ہے۔ عالمی سطح پر آبادی کے موضوع پر مختص یہ دن اسکی اہمیت کو اجاگر کرتا ہے۔ اس سال یہ عالمی دن "نوجوانوں کی امیدوں اور امنگوں کو آج اور مستقبل میں حقیقت بنانا" کے زیرعنوان منایا جا رہا ہے۔ یہ موضوع اس حقیقت کو اجاگر کرتا ہے کہ خوشحال مستقبل کی تشکیل میں نوجوان مرکزی حیثیت رکھتے ہیں۔ نئی نسل کے لئے سازگار ماحول کی فراہمی ہماری اجتماعی ذمہ داری ہے۔ آبادی کے اعتبار سے پاکستان دنیا کا پانچواں بڑا ملک ہے اور نمایاں نوجوان آبادی کے تناسب کی وجہ سے نمایاں ممالک میں شمار ہوتا ہے۔ مجموعی ملکی آبادی کا پینسٹھ فیصد سے زائد حصہ تیس برس سے کم عمر افراد پر مشتمل ہے، جو ایک قیمتی قومی سرمایہ اور معاشی و سماجی ترقی کا مضبوط محرک ہے۔ تاہم آبادی میں سالانہ 2.55 فیصد اضافہ معاشی منصوبہ بندی، روزگار کی فراہمی، تعلیم، صحت، رہائش، غذائی تحفظ، بنیادی شہری ڈھانچے کی ترقی اور ماحولیاتی پائیداری کے حوالے سے بڑے چیلنجز بھی پیدا کرتا ہے۔ نوجوان آبادی کی استعداد سے بھرپور استفادہ اور مثبت ثمرات کے لیےدستیاب ملکی وسائل میں مسلسل سرمایہ کاری اور جامع حکمتِ عملی ناگزیر ہے ۔ تاکہ انسانی فلاح اور صلاحیتوں کی نشوو نما کو ترقی کے عمل کا محور بنایا جاسکے۔ ملکی آبادی اور ترقی کے تناظر میں جامع اور موثر قومی حکمت عملی کی تشکیل کے لئے وفاقی حکومت کے زیر نگرانی *قومی کونسل برائے آبادی* قائم کی گئی ہے۔ آبادی کے لیے بہترین منصوبہ سازی کے لیے یہ اعلیٰ سطحی قومی فورم وفاقی اور صوبائی حکومتی پالیسی ہم آہنگی اور اداراجاتی روابط کو یقینی بناۓ گا۔ یہ کونسل قومی آبادی پروگرام کے نفاذ کے لیے پالیسی رہنمائی کے ساتھ ساتھ قومی ترجیحات کے مطابق مؤثر عمل درآمد کے ضمن میں ضروری اور بر وقت فیصلہ سازی بھی کرے گی۔ علاوہ ازیں آبادی سے متعلق امور کی قومی ترقیاتی ایجنڈے میں مؤثر شمولیت، بااختیار خواتین، انسانی وسائل کی ترقی سمیت دیگر حقائق پر مبنی پہلوؤں کی پالیسی سازی اور طویل المدتی سماجی و معاشی خوشحالی کے لیے کام کونسل کی اولین ترجیحات میں شامل ہے۔ نوجوانوں کو باصلاحیت، ذمہ دار اور بااختیار شہری بنانے کے عظیم مقصد کے حصول کے لیۓ وزیراعظم یوتھ پروگرام اور دیگر اہم قومی اقدامات بھی اٹھاۓ جا رہے ہیں۔ تمام شہری بلا تفریق رنگ و نسل بالخصوص معاشرے کے کمزور طبقات سہولیات کی فراہمی اور مستقبل کی منصوبہ بندی میں خصوصی توجہ کے مستحق ہیں۔ ایسے تمام طبقات بشمول خواتین اور بچیوں کی تعلیم، صحت، معاشی شمولیت اور مساوی مواقع حکومت کی ترجیح ہیں۔ آبادی سے متعلق چیلنجز سے نمٹنے کے لیے حکومت اور معاشرے کے تمام طبقات کی مشترکہ کاوشیں ناگزیر ہیں۔ میں تمام متعلقہ اکائیوں بشمول وفاقی و صوبائی حکومت، اراکینِ پارلیمان، ترقیاتی شراکت دار، سول سوسائٹی، جامعات، نجی شعبہ، علمائے کرام، ذرائع ابلاغ اور مقامی برادریاں سے اپیل کرتا ہوں کہ آبادی کےمعاملے کی حساسیت کے مد نظر ہنگامی بینادوں پر اپنی سماجی ذمہ داری کا احساس کریں اور آبادی سے متعلق باخبر فیصلوں، ذمہ دارانہ پرورش، صنفی مساوات اور پائیدار ترقی کے فروغ میں اپنا مؤثر کردار ادا کریں۔ انشاءاللہ! اجتماعی عزم اور مشترکہ کاوشوں کے ذریعے ہم ایسا ماحول یقینی بنا سکتے ہیں جہاں ہر شہری کو صحت مند، باوقار اور باصلاحیت زندگی گزارنے کے یکساں مواقع میسر ہوں۔ مشترکہ کوششوں سے ہم ملکی آبادیاتی صلاحیت کو دیرپا قومی قوت میں بدل سکتے ہیں اور موجودہ و آنے والی نسلوں کے لیے ایک مضبوط، مستحکم، خوشحال اور ترقی یافتہ مستقبل کو یقینی بنا سکتے ہیں۔

Held a telephone conversation with my dear brother, HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of Qatar, today. I conveyed Pakistan’s solidarity with the brotherly people of Qatar and stressed the need for restraint, dialogue and diplomacy to preserve regional peace. I also thanked HH the Amir for Qatar’s steadfast support for peace efforts that led to the Islamabad MoU and reaffirmed our shared commitment to advancing peace, stability and prosperity in the region.

Islamabad: 10 July 2026. Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held a warm and cordial telephone conversation today with the Amir of the State of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. During their discussion, the Prime Minister expressed his deep concern over the recent escalation in tensions in the region. While conveying Pakistan’s solidarity and support with the people of Qatar on the recent attacks, the Prime Minister stressed upon all parties to exercise restraint and refrain from any actions that could undermine peace in the region. The Prime Minister conveyed Pakistan’s sincere gratitude to His Highness the Amir for Qatar’s consistent and steadfast support in the peace efforts that culminated in the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding and the first round of high-level technical talks at Burgenstock. The two leaders agreed upon the importance of sustained diplomatic engagement and dialogue, and adherence to the commitments made by all parties under the peace memorandum. His Highness the Amir thanked the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for playing a leading role for peace in the region and assured him of Qatar’s continued support in this regard.
