@LaikaOrbital Mostly the nobility that had maintained their noble status when they were incorporated into the Spanish empire. The Inca nobles and the tlaxcaltecan nobles being the most prominent of them who actually maintained power during the viceroyalty.

@LaikaOrbital Uh yes it did and there is expansive evidence of it. Some of Those grammar books of indigenous languages still exist and are preserved in libraries and museums.
