Kpop has consistently and so casually engaged in the use of anti-black slurs, that I really don't put it down to ignorance any more.
At this point, Kpop is global enough that they have all the resources in the world to learn.
This is intentional.

I feel like many of the accounts that I see posting 2000's anime are just rage-baiting.
Because they'll see something like, ".hack//Sign is peak! They don't make them like this anymore! Could not be made in 2026!"

There's a term for this: "activity-based identities."
Stans are people who have made a specific activity their identity.
So if you point out anything wrong with the activity--be it a Kpop group, an anime, a video game, etc.?
Stans will see it as an attack on their identity.

I don’t get why people feel that if you’re a fan of someone or something, that you have to defend everything that they do. I think spectrum of fandom has shifted so much because stans are so insane now that regular fans behave like how stans in the past would.

@CarrieCnh12 Wow; did NOT hear that. I always think back to the Wizard of Oz movie where the lead was treated absolutely terribly, and this is a scary reminder of why this industry needs strict regulations/unions.
Overall, cannot understand the high praise this drama got at all.

@PakistaniPepper Nothing about this drama has interested me past the first two trailers. Then I learned today that there were major issues on the production from the elderly cast being mistreated to the cast and crew not being fed well on set.

Dropped #WhenLifeGivesYouTangerines after Ep4.
Could not connect with leads' feeling for each other. Their "love" was just posed as a given since the beginning--nothing I saw developed or earned it for me.
And that's not an emotion I can connect with in this stage of life.
