But when a company shuts down their still-popular game that's had ridiculous legs (even by traditional game standards), & they don't have anything to replace it with, where's the logic? How many VR IPs does Meta own that's more popular than Echo?

And I generally do subscribe to what you say about the ability & importance of moving on, sure. But in what is a very fresh situation, and knowing the history, your responses come across cold and self-satisfying.

It's done nothing but grow and sustain every year—and we have stats to show it— despite a lack of substantial updates, or otherwise. What other games perform as well as Echo has, that Meta owns? It's wrong.

No matter how you personally feel about Echo's community at large, you know this game was so much more than that for many of us.

@VENOM_xVR I keep a personal channel in Discord named "reasons," where I started saving messages like that as well. It helps remind why this is all so worth it, and really helps get me through my days sometimes, when things get tough. And man, the recent news makes it tougher than ever.

I received this message today that felt like a dagger to the heart. Looking back I've kept messages that I'd look at when I needed some extra motivation to create content. This ending just doesn't feel right 😥 I'm really gonna miss you all.

Echo Arena, and the friends I've met there who I now consider family, have been at the center of my life since 2017. Save the passing of my grandfather, I've never, ever, been more gutted than I am today.

Absolutely devastating. For millions of people, and thousands of its most dedicated players, Echo Arena has been our bastion the last 5+ years. A game that never needed the marketing, nor big updates and new content to continue not only sustaining, but *growing* since 2017.
