@DouglasCarswell I wish I could say this was unbelievable but it’s actually par for the course. Weak kneed republicans putting their fear of the education establishment above what is best for their constituents. We will outlast them.

You've got the wrong girl, @jamestalarico. You fought hard against #TexasEducationFreedomAccounts, dismissing them as "welfare for the wealthy." But thousands of Texas families—especially those with children who have learning differences, special needs, or limited financial means—have gained opportunities they never had before through schools that better meet their needs. Parents know the difference between political talking points and real options for their children. I hope voters remember that in November.

How has homeschooling become the fastest-growing education model? Families choose to homeschool for different reasons (wanting faith-based curriculum, accommodating their child's medical needs, or learning differences). The underlying reason is the same, these families want the freedom to customize their child's learning. edchoice.org/2026-how-homes…

The Palmetto State is leading the nation in in-migration. This influx of wealth and people can be great for our economic vitality, but it does bring some challenges. We have the Welcome mat out, but no interest in Californification. palmettopromise.org/south-carolina…

Stop everything you're doing and watch this young man explain how school choice changed his life. "That single opportunity changed everything for me." "@ACEscholarships not only gave me access to a great school – they rescued my family from going under."

As the proud dad of two public school kids, education is personal to me. I’m proud of the teachers we have across South Carolina, and as Governor, I’ll fight to reward great teachers, support struggling schools, and empower parents with more choices for their children’s future. My parents sacrificed to give me the best education possible. Every parent in South Carolina deserves that same opportunity.

@RahmEmanuel No one has abandoned public education. Every state continues to pour billions into the failing system. Fortunately some families are now able to seek alternatives through school choice programs as well.

There are three doors a child walks through that will determine their future: the front door of the home, the front door of the school, and the front door of the place of worship. If those three doors are not aligned, it impacts a child’s education and future. Today, 50% of our kids cannot read at grade level. Republicans have abandoned public education, Democrats have abandoned standards and accountability, and our kids are the ones paying the ultimate price.

Government schools spend $21,456 per child per year. Imagine if that money went directly to families instead. A teacher could set up a microschool with just 14 students and pull in $300,384 a year.
