Update: 16:27: Units are still at scene. All cover units have been released. PSFD will continue to monitor the fire area.

Update 14:36: Approximately 3.5 acres and 100 palm trees. ————————— Update 17:27: Fire full contained.

Prescott Incident Update: Forward progression of the fire has been stopped. Crews are working toward full containment and will continue extended mop-up operations for the next several hours. Fire activity is currently limited to vegetation.

Structure Fire Response At ~11:26am Palm Springs Firefighters responded to a 2 alarm structure fire contained to a single unit on the 3rd floor. Crews are currently conducting checks to determine whether any additional exposures occurred. No injuries reported and updates soon.

At 1:20 p.m., Engine 3, Engine 1, and Battalion 2 responded to a shallow-water rescue on Indian Ave at the wash. Thanks to the quick actions of the crews, a family of three was safely assisted out of their stalled vehicle without injury.

10/19 Update 16:36 Today, the fire area was re-hiked and gridded. A small warm spot within the containment line was addressed. The fire will be rechecked tomorrow.

Demobing units now. Incident will remain active throughout the evening and into the night.

Update: Air attack mapped approx 17 acres

🚨 Brush Fire Update – Palm Springs A brush fire is burning off Hwy 111, about 1 mile north of Gateway. The fire has now been mapped at approximately 11 acres on the mountain slope. Forward progress has been stopped. Fire crews remain on scene with aircraft support.

Rain and wind can make roads slick and dangerous in Palm Springs. Slow down, avoid flooded areas, use headlights, and pick up sandbags at any of our five fire stations.
