Love how we have to stop republicans at all costs but we need to also write bipartisan bills alongside them for reasons. We had a better infrastructure bill without them that ended up not passing for this soulless bipartisan bill you are touting. There’s still potholes bud.

Let’s stop pretending.
The Voting Rights Act wasn’t symbolic. It was a response—to a country that had to be told, in law, not to block certain people from voting.
We actually needed federal protection because, without it, people in power decided who counted… and who didn’t.
And now?
We’re debating whether those protections still matter.
As if history expired...
It didn’t. It evolved.
More polished. More procedural.
We already know—
access has never been guaranteed.
We had to fight for what was described as "certain inalienable rights".
So this isn’t overreaction.
It’s recognition.
Because when voting protections are weakened, the real question is:
Who benefits when fewer people can fully participate?
