@delay_peggy @MYoung419 @ifudontlike2bad And there's the reason why. I own several CDs. I love(d) his music. I don't play it anymore, and when it shows up on the blues channel on Sirius, I switch channels. I wonder how many people died because of listening to him?

So we know that RFK JR had posted on his official fundraiser page & his Twitter/X that several celebrities were going to be attending his fundraiser/birthday dinner. Fast-forward, these celebrities all said nope, never heard of it, not happening. This prompted me to dig...🧵 ⬇️

@StrikeNerves3x @RpsAgainstTrump Rightfully, no one, NO ONE!, should qualify for a lifetime pension and medical care based on 4 years of work. Unless they served in the military and were injured in that 4 years to the extent that they really needed that pension and care. BJs don't qualify.

Colorado Republican Party chairman Dave Williams on Lauren Boebert's decision to ditch the 3 districts and instead run in the more conservative 4 district: "From a party perspective, we certainly don’t think it was the best move...I think she’s got a serious challenge on her hands, trying to explain to the voters of CD 4 why she thought it was necessary to leave CD 3 and have a better chance at keeping her seat in Congress. It’s kind of a problematic proposition, but again, it’s something for the voters to decide."

NEW: In 2000, Clarence Thomas was deep in debt. He met w/ a GOP Congressman & complained about his salary. The GOP started to fear he’d leave the court. In the years that followed, billionaires lavished him w/ secret gifts. propublica.org/article/claren…

@Kap02226297Alan @WeHearPodcast @BertaMassaro Absolutely true. When my parents married my dad had a terrible credit rating. When he died in 1973 “he” had an A+ credit rating. It is only that the bankers where they’d banked for years knew who really managed the $ that allowed my mother to be able to have limited credit.

@roomof13doors @ambirc723 @CalltoActivism A friend told me that in 5th grade Sex Ed is when she figured out what a relative was doing to her. She fought back, & it stopped. But God forbid kids learn about identifying the sexual assault they are experiencing. The relative was a conservative Christian male. No surprise

JUST NOW: Illinois Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias SILENCES Lindsey Graham during a hearing on Republican book banning: He says it PERFECTLY. 👇 “Don’t let one parent who disagrees with a certain world view determine whether a book should be in a library. That goes against the very point of our Democracy, (it hinders) the means to educate our youth, and to allow them to think for themselves.” Illinois is the first state to enact a law that requires state libraries uphold a pledge not to ban material because of partisan disapproval. Smash that heart if you agree books should be READ and not BANNED! 💙

Perhaps it's time for UNC to raise the pay of the custodians who not only clean the school, but also act as additional security presence on campus.

@tessaprn @Oilman42usLaw @kaitlancollins LBJ was manipulative, devious, racist, but his war on poverty was real and only someone like him could get force the Dixiecrats to pass the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Flawed individual with immense positive results for our nation, at least on the home front.

@Oilman42usLaw @kaitlancollins LBJ was manipulative & devious. Vietnam conflict cost around 58,000 troops. 30,000 was under LBJ who put the US in the conflict. LBJ pulled a lot of his own $hit. LBJ gave us welfare. I do agree LBJ most likely would do as you suggest.

Biden was convinced by the head of Space Command, who argued moving his headquarters now would jeopardize military readiness. Dickinson’s view was in contrast to Air Force leadership, who studied the issue at length & determined relocating was right move. apnews.com/article/space-…

The numbers he sites are incorrect, so why such specific numbers? I’m at once struck by “there’s no way he would purposely do this!” and “what are the chances this is a coincidence?” Aside from that, I’m thoroughly turned off by politicians who constantly talk about how everything is unfair for them. (Sound familiar?) it’s a pathology.

A rando man just called me out for wearing a mask AS WE BOTH ENTERED A HOSPITAL. I was like, “Even if you’ve already been exposed to flesh-eating cholera doesn’t mean it’s fair for me to expose everyone else here.”

🚨🚨🚨BREAKING: The Bible has been removed from all elementary and middle school libraries throughout the Davis School District in Utah after a parent utilized a new law that permits the removal of "pornographic" books from school libraries. The removal of the Bible was requested due to it being "one of the most sex-ridden books around." The Utah Legislature in 2022 approved a contentious bill HB374, which lawmakers have described as a way to weed out content found to be pornographic from K-12 libraries and classrooms. Utah Parents United, a conservative parents rights lobbied strongly for the passing of HB374. The parent argued that the Bible contained topics such as incest, bestiality, genital mutilation, and infanticide, making it pornographic under the new definition set forth in Utah Code Ann. § 76-10-1227. A GOP lawmaker expressed sadness regarding the situation.

@cosmops2 @kuncoro @Binaayakkk @fermatslibrary In Algebra 1 I did the same thing as that student. There were a few snickers. Lawrence Kaber, the teacher, ripped those laughing, called me brave for asking, and took the time to answer my question. He was an outstanding teacher, and I've loved math ever since.

In 1932, Paul Dirac, a symbol of genius and mathematical prowess, was appointed the Lucasian Professor of Mathematics at the University of Cambridge, England. During a particular lecture, an unexpected occurrence left a deep imprint on the collective student memory. A student, puzzling over an equation displayed on the blackboard, expressed his confusion: "I don't understand the equation in the top-right-hand corner". Dirac, consumed by his mathematical exposition, simply nodded his head in agreement, and without breaking his stride, continued his lecture. When the student's confusion persisted and the issue was raised again, Dirac responded with a sense of perplexity. He had interpreted the student's statement as a mere admission of fact, rather than a plea for clarification or an invitation for discussion.
