This can never go unmentioned. On Monday, I joined my deputy @Milly_nassolo and her husband @bertkiko for a two-day medical camp in Kagadi, where they run a charity organization known as @AfricaMaisha. The experience reminded me that there are people silently transforming communities on an unimaginable scale. I know the Kikomekos do not believe in publicizing their work, but some acts of kindness must be shared—not only to appreciate them, but also to inspire others, especially the younger generation. Through their organization, they are educating close to 500 children in Kagadi District, with 90% of them on full scholarships. These are underprivileged children who may never have stepped into a classroom if it were not for this golden-hearted couple. The annual two-day medical camp, now in its fourth edition, saw over 700 people receive free medical services, including: 1General vital checks 2Doctor consultations 3Laboratory services, especially rapid tests (malaria, typhoid, syphilis, urinalysis, blood sugar, HCG) 4Ultrasound scan services 5Eye care services 6Maternal and child health services, including mama kits 7Free medication Having personally taken part in the camp, I witnessed emergency cases where only God knows what would have happened had the camp not come at that moment. Beyond the school and church already making a huge impact in Kagadi, they are also constructing a medical facility that will provide more or less free healthcare services to the people of Kagadi. Some of these children, after completing primary school at Maisha Primary School, are brought to Kampala where the sponsorship continues. The Kikomekos host over 25 children in their own home that they feed, take to school and do everything on behalf of their parents. Oh my goodness 🙌 They may whip me for revealing all this, but I would be a hypocrite if I stayed silent. I am not one of those who waits to appreciate good people at their funerals. To Mr. & Mrs. Kikomeko: you are blessed beyond imagination. May those blessings flow through your generations like DNA. You are indeed blessed 🙏
