I visited the five-day Vedic Mathematics workshop organised for teachers at Dhemaji Town Vidyapith High School, beginning yesterday. Conducted by Samagra Shiksha Assam, this workshop aims to make the teaching of mathematics more engaging through simple, quick, and application-oriented techniques. The resignation of the Hon’ble Vice President is both sudden and shocking. I wish good health to respected Dhankar ji. But it is for the Union government to clarify if they had prior intimation and have planned for a smooth transition. The absence of senior ministers yesterday at a meeting chaired by the Hon’ble Vice President now carries even more significance.

Assam becomes the first state in India to offer Indian Sign Language (ISL) as an elective for Class 11, alongside Artificial Intelligence and Financial Literacy, starting 2025–26. @ranojpeguassam @TribalAffairsIn Please provide a student hostel including "Jamudchuk Lahan Janajati High School" in the greater Jamudchuk area under our Majuli district. There are increasing hundred and hundreds of students dropping out of school halfway.

Under the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan, 209 boys’ and girls’ hostels will be established in schools located in the tribal-dominated areas of Assam. This initiative by the @TribalAffairsIn, aims to address the issue of high dropout rates among tribal students. Today, I chaired a meeting at the office of Samagra Shiksha in Kahilipara to discuss the construction plan of these hostels. The scheme will be implemented under @Samagra_Assam. @himantabiswa @CMOfficeAssam

Assam is leading the nation in implementing #NEP2020. As per the list released by NCTE, 18 institutes from Assam have been approved to offer the 4-year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP), with a total allocation of 1,500 seats. This accounts for 21% of the 7,100 seats sanctioned across 77 institutions in the country.
