I have watched a Disasi/Mavropanos 2-3 build shred Wolves but Tosin gets 100k per week from the SD’s to barely function in a 3 build.

@CRSportTraining @hbrooks_coach Agreed but more and more the really talented ones (like MLS level or above) are getting backing from their parents to go straight for Pro’s now too. The narrative on it has changed now that there is proof you can make a living.

@Pano_Footy @hbrooks_coach You need a degree here for literally any job so some families still push that pathway in case it doesn't work out. It's not like USL pays well. Top 10% or whatever go to academies of course, same as anywhere

The more and more I look into the football player development system in the USA , the more baffled I am. It is as nonsense as it gets. In every single aspect. The USA has some of the most talented young players u16 and under in the world. There is pretty much nothing done to make the most of that. And some things are such such simple fixes. Wild.

@CRSportTraining @hbrooks_coach True but to be honest the cream of the crop from U13-U17 have D1 College Soccer as a backup these days. The very best do not look at it as a pathway anymore. Things have changed a lot the last 10-15 years.

@Pano_Footy @hbrooks_coach This is where the college pathway ties in, which is of course unfortunately linked to academic grades, scholarships, etc. Division 1 soccer isn't all that. Played against a lot of them

@Thrylos7Intl @n_kalathakis The answer is very clearly that Coaches do not pick the squads and Lineups for Greece, EPO does based on who is friendly with them. It’s a boys club who are interested in doing favors to players, not winning

Why Won't Jovanovic Field The Greece Team That Beat Scotland 3-0? The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over while expecting a different result. Why haven't we seen this team play again? #EthnikoOmada #InternationalBreak

Maturing is realizing that the Italy 2020 Euro win was nearly just as much a miracle as Greece 2004

@t_c_p_33 2nd point I 100% agree with. Such few young talents coming out of a huge footballing nation and economy. As for the league, it’s “decent” but relatively speaking it’s bad for a league that was #1 in the 90’s-2000’s. It’s the 4th best but closer to being 5th than 1st.

@Pano_Footy The league is still decent, they just have no development of young Italians at the major clubs. It's so bizarre

I was (kinda) wrong about Greece, but I was absolutely right about Italy. Washed league, washed national team.

Want a case study on corruption in International Footy? Look no further than the Greek Football Organization (EPO). Found a winning formula playing young talents but the older nobodies w/uncles in EPO complained about playing time & now we’re at 12 years w/o a tournament app.

Christos Mouzakitis (19, 🇬🇷) Continues to impress for Olympiacos, started 10 Leagues Games this season - scoring once + assisting twice and creating 6 big chances. Technically, so gifted. Can operate deeper in midfield, helping dictate tempo, add composure and structure. Recently he's been operating left of a double pivot with the freedom to support attacks and recover defensively. He has a "wand of a left foot", love how he attempts to play forwards and early, likes to change the point of attacks with switches ... just an excellent footballer tio watch. Be interesting to see if he has suitors this summer 👀

During the 2010/11 season, 19-year-old Kevin De Bruyne provided 17 assists for Genk. This season, 18-year-old Konstantinos Karetsas has provided 18 assists for Genk. The Genk Academy has produced yet another elite creative talent. 🎯
