Some people have no other options, but I would urge them to make phone calls and send emails letting HEB know how you feel.

The hate and stupidity on this post is entertaining.
So to all the haters out there. Let me dumb it down for you a bit.
I am obviously comparing companies that base their entire brand on Texas. No, I don't think you can grocery shop at a gas station. I didn't think that needed an explanation but obviously it does for some.
The co-founder's son I have researched. He has never had any connection to the company. If someone has evidence that he isn't a plague on his father's life please share.
To the people in spam that tried to add a community note. I see no community note. Irrelevant inaccurant community note requests from spam don't get very far.
HEB has lost its roots. You can have blind loyalty all you want. They have a brilliant strategic planning strategy in which they have made billions grooming manufactured loyalty by helping Texans. I understand all the blind loyalty.
Regardless, if they are going to stand for Texas then they need to stand for Texas.
Halal meats, H-1B sponsorships, and drag shows for kids don't align with that at all. It's a necessary reality check.
Go ahead, go to HEB please. The people that share my values are thankful not have to deal with ya'll when we shop.

Uh, grocery stores cater. That’s what they do for a living. If they offer kosher, you got a problem? I know the “seasonal” aisle had Easter stuff, like chocolate bunnies, food coloring & 47 varieties of eggs to boil first.

H-E-B keeps pretending to be “Texas Proud” while pushing Crescent halal meats, Pride/DEI sponsorships, family drag events, 47+ H-1B visas over American workers, and funding both political sides.
United Supermarkets (Lubbock-based with real West Texas roots since 1916) does it better: barely any H-1B (just 1 last year, zero so far in 2026), no major halal push, zero woke corporate activism, and actual local community focus.
United stacks up as the stronger America First choice.
