#Patriots owner Robert Kraft told reporters he's in favor of an 18th regular season game under these conditions • Remove one preseason game (from 3 to 2). • Add a second bye. • All 32 NFL teams would have an international game every year.

#Colts owner Carlie Irsay-Gordon would like to see the NFL go to an 18th regular season game, via @JoelAErickson: “I think, as long as the players want it—which I think they would, because it would mean more revenue and, ultimately, a better product—I think it’s reasonable and something we should work toward.” More: indystar.com/story/sports/n…

Uh Oh: The NFL will likely hire 150–180 officials from DI, DII, and DIII colleges as replacement refs to prepare for the upcoming season. Currently, no progress is being made with the current referees. Next season is going to be really interesting... 😬😬😬

"Please allow me to introduce myself, I'm a man of wealth and taste" -Rolling Stones Well, I am neither of the above. For the new followers of this account, my name is Augie and I love sharing the history of the St Louis Cardinals. With each daily post, I hope to spark a Cardinals memory, or enlighten you to the players and events of the past. It is imperative that we remember these players. They are the ones who laid the foundation for the team we love today. #STLCards

On this day in 1603 King James VI of Scotland also became King of England (France & Ireland too) under the union of the crowns. It was a Scottish King that United the kingdoms and eventually led to the formal act of union in 1707 creating Great Britain. 👑🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 #AlexandersJourney #History #Heritage

Alexander's Journey

Today is one of the most significant dates in Roman history and associated with a saying, made famous by Shakespeare, ‘beware the Ides of March’. On this day in 44 BC, a group of senators assassinated Julius Caesar in an attempt to restore power to the Senate. It had the opposite effect, creating civil war, and paved the way for Octavian, who later became Augustus, to become Rome’s Emperor. The phrase the ‘Ides of March’ relating to the midpoint of the Roman calendar became a symbol of treachery and betrayal. The image is the beautiful painting by Cannuccini in 1806 ‘Death Of Julius Caesar’. #History #IdesOfMarch #Roman
