If Americans don't want data centers, reindustrialization will be impossible. Data centers have - No truck/car traffic - No toxic chemicals - No noxious odors - Minimal noise - No pollution It's better for residents than almost every factory. I understand that they use power and water, but factories do too. Peoples' minds need to change because these data centers will be essential to productivity going forward.

They should definitely be laid at the feet of progressivism, for the most part, but you see it on the Internet all the time from all factions. It’s just the way people argue now. There’s something weird that happens with people’s brains when they read words you’ve written down as opposed to hearing you speak them. It’s like it creates this kind of indelible imprint. I have people all the time who show me some screenshot of something I said who are just completely resistant to any kind of explanation about it. “But this is what you said! You said this! We have the screenshot! It’s right here in the screenshot!” And it’s just like, you know, you’re not deciphering an ancient manuscript. We’re not equals in this endeavor to understand what I meant. I’m like right here. I’m telling you what it meant. I’m the one who wrote it. It can literally only exist as an expression of my views, which I am here now to explain to you further. This has no effect. Once people see something you have written down and decide that they know what it means, that is what it will mean to them for the rest of all time. This mode of interaction makes risk taking much harder. It makes you want to avoid some subjects entirely. It makes you want to hedge, to be extra careful about sensitive subjects. Most people just bail out entirely.
