With recent events in the manga leaving Tokio in the state he's in, I think the next time we see him will have a lot changed with him mentally. There's a lot that can be seen in his design that can tell about where his character will be headed. A 🧵 about Tokio's true nature

Unlike a certain other manga, Tokyo Ghoul's ending does not tell the reader that the protagonist would have been better off if the story had never happened. I'm really grateful that Ishida actually respects his characters and their experiences.
