It's hilarious that people were debating about if Jude Bellingham will start, while my concern was if he was going to play CM or AM.

July 10, 1999, at Obafemi Awolowo University, Black Axe brutally murdered George Iwilade (Afrika) and four others in cold blood. George Iwilade, a.k.a "Afrika" 21-year-old, 300-level Law student and Secretary-General of the Student Union was a fearless, brilliant student and easily recognized for his traditional attire. He openly fought against cultism on campus. Afrika led the raid in school were Black axe was gathering, they seized guns, axe, dagger, black clothing and regalia of the Black Axe confraternity. The nine students were handed to the university authorities and the local police. The suspects were discharged and acquitted by a magistrate court after the evidence mysteriously went missing during the trial. Then came the revenge:- Friday night, July 9, 1999, thousands of Kegites from other universities across Nigeria gathered at the OAU campus for their festival. The crowd was massive. There was loud singing, drumming, and palm wine drinking. 40 masked Black Axe members wearing black used this opportunity to enter the campus unnoticed. By 3-4 a.m, July 10 , They entered the students hostel shouting the names of specific student union leaders, firing guns. They entered Awolowo hall, Room 273, Block 8, Africa was shot on head in the bed while sleeping and repeatedly cut with an axe, leaving him with no chance of survival. They searched for the SUG President Lanre Adeleke ("Legacy"), who escaped through the balcony. Four innocent students were killed, Eviano Ekelemu - a 400-level medical student who met them on the way, Babatunde Oke, Efe Ekpede and Yemi Ajiteru, a graduating student who only returned to campus to clear his carryover. This is one of the darkest chapters in the history of Nigerian universities which brought the country to a standstill. Today is 27 years and every July 10, students, alumni, and civil society groups organize candlelight processions, symposiums, and remembrance marches for the OAU 5. George Iwilade "Afrika" lost his life but his story continues to inspire generations of OAU students. The 2nd pics is Omoleye Sowore (1st) with Afrika (3rd) during a school protest) Copied

I INDEPENDENTLY SEARCHED NIGERIA'S BUDGET DOCUMENTS FROM 2019 TO THE PRESENT. HERE IS WHAT I FOUND ABOUT THE PFIPC SCANDAL THAT NOBODY IS TALKING ABOUT. THE NAME DID NOT COME FROM NOWHERE Everyone is focused on Adeyemi the man. Nobody has gone back to ask where the name "Presidential Economic Advisory Council" actually came from. I did. And the answer changes this entire story. The Presidential Economic Advisory Council is not a Tinubu creation. Tinubu's economic body is called the Presidential Economic Coordination Council. He established it in March 2024, inaugurated it in July 2024, and chairs it himself alongside Dangote, Elumelu, the Senate President and the Governors Forum Chairman. It has a different name, a different structure and a different budget code. The Presidential Economic Advisory Council is a creation of Buhari. Buhari established it in September 2019 to replace the Economic Management Team that Osinbajo was heading. It had real named members. Prof. Doyin Salami as chairman. Charles Soludo. Bismark Rewane. Eight economists reporting directly to the President with a defined mandate and a legal institutional identity. When Tinubu came in and created the PECC in 2024, the Buhari-era PEAC was never formally dissolved. No gazette removing it. No Budget Office circular revoking its institutional identity. It simply went dormant. But dormant in Nigeria's government system is not the same as deleted. That dormant status is exactly what was exploited.

NYSC REFORMS: On camping, the approved proposal is two weeks of civic, leadership, and life skills training; two weeks of basic accounting and financial literacy, access to finance, business planning, and career mapping; and the last two weeks would be a short immersion into your area of interest. So, you may have read English but be really interested in tech, environment and climate, or the creative sector. Camps will be certified and graded to ensure that they meet minimum standards. State governments will be given a grace period during which to ensure they meet the standards for infrastructure, accommodation, safety and security and healthcare. Posting will ordinarily be done impersonally using an algorithm that considers factors like state of origin, state of residence, school attended, etc. Posting to security flashpoints will be risk-sensitive and people who are not indigenes of those areas or are already residing in those areas should not be posted there. Regarding the timing of commencement and wider consultation, the NYSC Act would need to be amended for the changes to take effect. This should include public consultations and public hearings. Every legislation passed and assented to is a product of a series of compromises. Good morning.
Dr Joe Abah, OON@DrJoeAbah

Sometimes, it is not the message people are against, it is the messenger. Two people can say the same thing and they will get different reaction. The reaction is often a result of the position or interest of the reactor.

Prof. ‘Biodun Adedipe’s presentation to the Business Hallmark Policy Dialogue Series, moderated by Proshare’s Chief Economist, Teslim Shitta-Bey, arrives at a useful moment. Three years into Nigeria’s reform cycle, where the public conversation has hardened into two camps, one that celebrates macroeconomic stabilisation and another that points to persistent household hardship. The presentation’s value lies in its refusal of the binary. It documents measurable gains while insisting, in the author’s words, that the reforms are “real, tangible progress” whose trickledown “needs to be deepened”. Proshare EMIU’s purpose in this review is to test that proposition against the data and to separate what stabilisation has achieved from what it has not. Reserves stand at a multi-year high; the naira has converged and steadied, inflation has fallen from its peak, and the sovereign has earned its first S&P upgrade since 2012. These are outcomes, not announcements. The harder question is whether they are being converted into productive investment, lower business costs, employment, competitive enterprises, and visible public value. Stabilisation restores the platform. Transmission is what turns a platform into broad-based welfare. In this review of B. Adedipe’s presentation, we read the record, weigh the data, and set out the execution architecture that the next phase of reform will require. @CutestPristine Wait, just thought about it now and I have about just five contacts or thereabouts from camp. Three are connected to my alma mater, and two are acquaintances, arguably in the same bracket as status viewers, too.

Every time a bottle, food pack, nylon bag, or any waste is thrown from a vehicle onto the road, it may seem insignificant. However, when thousands of people do the same, our streets become littered, drainage channels become blocked, and the environment suffers. What you throw away today can contribute to: Flooding caused by blocked drains and waterways. Environmental pollution and unpleasant surroundings. Health risks from disease-causing pests and contaminated water. Increased government spending on waste evacuation and road maintenance. A negative image of our beautiful city. A clean Lagos is not the responsibility of government alone - it is a duty we all share. Dispose of your waste properly, keep a waste bag in your vehicle, and use designated waste bins. What you do: Throw waste on the road. What you cause: Pollution, flooding, and environmental degradation. What you should do: Keep your waste until you find a proper bin. Keep Lagos Clean. Protect the Environment. Save Lives. #CleanerLagos
