Jeudi dernier, nos étudiantes ont organisé une session pour réviser l’article de Charlotte. Elles ont discuté des points forts & améliorations à apporter avant de le soumettre à un journal scientifique. Charlotte a apporté un gâteau, rendant la matinée encore meilleure!📝

Last Saturday, our UFor students (some shared w @carlyziter) enjoyed a full day of field visits in Winnipeg, following the CUFC conference. A fantastic opportunity to connect and discusss with fellow urban forestry graduate students and experts from across the country!🌳🏙

Le 11 octobre, @Paq_Al & Johanna participaient au Rendez-vous sur le verdissement du @QDS_MTL organisé par le Partenariat du Quartier des Spectacles pour discuter des différents enjeux et solutions, dont celui des îlots de chaleur. Le projet de Johanna y était donc en vedette!

Cet automne, Charlotte est chargée de cours à la Faculté d'aménagement de @UMontreal ! Elle enseigne le cours Connaissance des plantes. Lors des deux dernières semaines, le groupe a profité des derniers beaux jours pour aller mettre en pratique leurs connaissances!🌾🌻🌹

In addition to David & Elyssa who gave conference talks, Vanessa, Sarah T, Johanna, Charlotte, Emma and Davia all presented posters of their graduate projects! The PaqLab team was also joined by other students of the Urban Forest Research Chair: Essivi, Hannah and Sarah I. (2/2)

As the 2024 @TreeCanada 's CUFC wraps up, the PaqLab is proud of its representation at the event. We now look forward to the 2026 edition in QC to continue showcasing all the innovating work we are undertaking on our quest to better understand and manage urban forests! (1/2)

Semaine dernière à CCFU: David a présenté son projet de doctorat. Il développe des équations allométriques pour les arbres urbains à partir du LiDAR terrestre. Il a partagé ses résultats sur l'allométrie de la biomasse et de la couronne de plusieurs espèces. Félicitations David!

The Canadian Urban Forest Conference 2024 Gala was a huge success. 🎉 The evening began with an incredible performance by Walking Wolf Dancers & Singers.

Elyssa presented Wednesday at the Canadian urban forestry conference. She expressed the need and necessity for funding programs targetted towards the survivial and maintenance of newly planted trees, as well as the protection of mature ones, and not just planting trees.

As part of the CUFC conference in Winnipeg this week, the UFor program held a workshop on Canadian urban forests & equity. Congrats to the PaqLab students who contributed: Charlotte, @vanessaonatrail , @JrmyFraysse , @SarahTardif0 , Davia, David, @emma_s_bacon , and Johanna!

Insect sampling complete for 2024! @JrmyFraysse has officially packed up his traps. His project aims to understand the role and biodiversity of insects across the city. What's next ? Molecular analysis & continuing to write his article on a new method to extract insect DNA🪲🦋
