Yeaaaaaaa.... That's a huge nope from me, fam. Now it all makes sense with a DM where that bizarre character name (character doesnt exist - which means it was deleted) and talking about Wuk Lamat while engagement farming. If you are going to play FF14, at least show that you actually enjoy game without creating dumb drama for engagement attention.

Why are people trying to gaslight me that 1.0 did not run bad like there isnt extendive evidence online including videos and a documentary?
Also, yeah its 2026, but these are also expensive to make and resource/time intensive. You would lose something if every CS was like this

@CoreyOw @Actually_Tina it was actually tied client side, not server side. so the client acted as the server. it had to do so many calculations, and then if someone nearby had a bad pc you’d have to wait for them to catch up slowing down your game.

@Actually_Tina 1.0 "ran" fine on mid-tier builds at the time. The primary issue with 1.0 was that every single interaction was tied server-side (including opening UI menus...) causing insane delay, and the fatigue / energy system.
Source: I was there and am not larping like 99.9% of XIV fans.

@origamiburb @Actually_Tina well the biggest problem was there wasn’t a project lead. every department worked on its own and didn’t try and integrate with everyone else, so it was essentially a bunch of incompatible mini games thrown together. sure the graphics hurt, but with proper management it’d be fine.
