It’s not that hard to understand. The Democratic Party doesn’t like America. They may like their individual neighborhoods, their favorite coffee shop or restaurant, or music festival but that’s not really the same is it? When was the last time you heard an elected Democrat say anything positive about the United States that wasn’t either strictly performative or that didn’t include some obligatory caveat about our horrible past or persistent inequality or systemic racism? When it comes to the things that truly make a country a country, things like history, traditions, culture…borders, they’re not impressed. In fact they’re usually hostile. When they’re protesting they have to remind their side to bring American flags…and then remind them to not burn them. When you observe institutions or organizations that they control, do they get more patriotic…or less? When was the last time you heard anything positive about America coming from a liberal college campus? Don’t get mad at me for pointing out the obvious. And don’t try to combat this by pointing out flaws with conservatives. I’m not saying conservatives are without fault, I’m merely saying you never have to question whether or not we actually like the country we’re trying to protect and govern. And spare me the “Im a Democrat and Im a veteran!” outrage that I know is coming. Yeah Im a veteran too, and you know what, just because you served doesn’t mean you love this country. And even if YOU do…YOUR party doesn’t. And you being the exception to the rule doesn’t help your argument, it proves mine. So if you’re a Democrat and you’re getting “offended” by this, how about you do something different for a change and instead of using your offense as a substitute for an argument, you actually think about this for a moment and ask yourself how wrong I really am based on what you see being said in every left wing institution in this country.
