@ParentingYears

Parent. Sometimes do it very well. Sometimes get it so so wrong. Keep trying. Love my country, hate the racist fascists that think they own it.

@Stonks_Mayne @Neccccy White Brit guy here. Don't share that view. OP is overtly racist. Have no time for that. Couldn't give a crap who people choose to love as long as they're good humans. Would frankly rather my daughter dated a black person, trans person, asylum seeker etc than a reform voter.

@HLTCO Dan, as a gooner, yours is one of the few non Arsenal accounts I follow. Your posts are balanced, considered, and something i always look forward to. People can have their own opinions, and I, of course, dont agree with you on everything, but love your work.

@MadelaineLucyH Hi Madelaine, I really enjoy your posts & support your overall msg. One challenge - we do have DEI in the public sector/ LA where I work, over and above legal requirements. It's a really important policy & we are totally committed to/ proud of it. Agree it isn't universal.

My beloveds: We don’t have DEI in the UK. That’s a USA thing. We also don’t have “welfare” or “green cards”. If it walks, talks, and goosesteps like an American grifter getting greedy for your outrage coins, it probably is

Britain when I was in my 30s was THE best country to live in the world. London was THE best city. I cannot tell you what a special place it was. Everyone, all over the world, wanted to live in Britain. I look now at the cards our country has dealt young British men and women? It’s a proper miserable deal, isn’t it? Student loans, for example. It is a suffocating graduate debt. NINE percent, over a very low threshold. That’s just brutal. Any real chance of saving, gone. NINE grand a year to even go to university. We break their backs before they even start working. Restore Britain would scrap interest on student loans altogether - funded by removing eligibility to foreign nationals who in the many, many thousands abscond and fail to pay a penny back. Wider tax, even more pain. Just remember, workers, when you’re walking to the office in the pissing rain that your efforts are funding some Somalian family to sit on benefits doing sod all. You work, so others don’t have to. We would ban foreigners from benefits altogether, and we could get the healthy British shirking class off their backsides and out picking litter and cleaning graffiti. Painful, yes. Necessary, absolutely. We need to brutally cut tax, and brutally slash down the size of the state. Do those two things in tandem, and just watch how the clouds lift for men and women who are putting in the hours and getting nowhere. Let’s say a young couple manage to scratch together 20k for a deposit after paying 2k a month in rent. What do they get? A pokey little flat in Lewisham? They don’t even own it, due to ludicrous leasehold rules? Spending an hour commuting each way, on filthy, packed trains? Not exactly the American dream is it? The system STINKS. Possibly one positive development thanks to technology - working from home. Farage wants it to end, and attacks the idea of ‘work-life’ balance. Restore Britain’s position is clear on private sector employees working from home - WE DO NOT CARE. And actually, a positive work-life balance is a good thing. People care, people are happy, they work better. Anyone who has actually run a proper business would understand that. People my age say oh well the youngsters don’t work hard enough, they don’t save, they spend too much. Possibly for some. False for an overwhelming majority. It is an objective fact that buying a home when I was younger was SO much easier than now. Cutting down on flat whites will not solve the entire problem, CLEARLY. Look at childcare. Maybe they want to start a family. Good for them. Oh wait, they examine the costs of childcare. Thousands a month. When the damn thing is only open six hours a day. Vast waiting list to even get in? It just doesn't work. Nothing works. Restore Britain would give vast tax breaks to working parents to ensure that a parent can stay with the child if they choose, or make childcare more affordable. Reward families with meaningful relief. Raise thresholds, widen VAT exemptions for essential child-related items, and expand tax-deductible childcare costs. We would front-load child benefit - pay more of the money in the earlier years, when the help is really required. Only British nationals would be eligible to receive that. Stamp duty, gone for British nationals. An insidious tax that further punishes ambition and success. We will support young men and women who want to get on, build a family and find their way in the world. I want these people to have the same opportunity that my generation had. That's all. The vast majority want a Government that will enable them to succeed, and then leave them the hell alone. They now have a political party that will do exactly that. Restore Britain.

@JoeyMannarino Fair to say that if you think 'winning a majority of seats in a General Election' doesn't constitute winning a mandate, then you don't actually know anything about our electoral system. Whatever you think of Starmer's govt, him winning a mandate is inarguable.

Keir, to be very clear with you. I’m American so I don’t know everything about your system but you didn’t win a mandate. The Conservative Party governed for fourteen years and totally betrayed their voters so your party was voted in simply because you were the other option at the time. You have now proven to them that you are even worse than the pathetic Conservative Party so they want you gone. You say you’ll never all away from the country that you love but I can’t tell which country that is. Mauritius? Ukraine? Africa? Pakistan? It certainly can’t be the UK because it’s soooooo clear that you HATE everything the UK stands for and you HATE the citizens of the UK. They come last in your book. You allow them to pay exorbitant taxes to fund rapists, pedophiles and other types of scum to migrate into your country and do whatever it is they want to do. You have sold your people and your country out. You’re a traitor to every single value that the British hold dear. I say this as an outsider who will never be British. You’re a parasite. The lowest of the low. I wouldn’t even say anything but I know my British friends CANNOT say anything because you’ll arrest them if they even speak up against you. You’re a petty little tyrant who has no business running a kebab shop, let alone a country. Now, go ahead and ban me from the country like you’ve done with the rest of your foreign dissenters. Go and let a million Moslem rapists in instead. Absolute bellend of a man.
Keir Starmer@Keir_Starmer

I will never walk away from the mandate I was given. I will never walk away from the people I'm fighting for. I will never walk away from the country I love.

This is preposterous. First of all, she's not waving the officers through and has no right to do so even if she were. She is waving another car through, before the officers approach her car. Second, the officers are not randomly searching her, they are approaching her vehicle because she is violating the law: namely, she is obstructing a lawful enforcement operation. You're not allowed to walk up to or drive up to people who are enforcing the law to make it harder for them to do their jobs. Third, this defense attorney is drawing a meaningless distinction between an ICE officer and a "real police officer." Again, you're not allowed to interrupt a lawful enforcement operation, which is exactly what this woman was doing. Fourth, the officer didn't discharge his weapon to prevent her from fleeing. When he discharged his weapon, she had pointed the vehicle at him and pressed the gas. He discharged his weapon in self defense, and other angles of the video show the woman *clearly* hit the officer with her car while accelerating. The gaslighting is off the charts and I'm having none of it. This guy was doing his job. She tried to stop him from doing his job. When he approached her car, she tried to hit him. A tragedy? Absolutely. But a tragedy that falls on this woman and all of the radicals who teach people that immigration is the one type of law that rioters are allowed to interfere with.
Jenin Younes@JeninYounesEsq

I'm a former defense attorney and currently a civil liberties attorney with no political dog in this fight. I watched the video at least 10 times from different angles and at different speeds and waited to offer an opinion, which I still reserve the right to change if additional information changes the calculus. It is very clear that the officers instigated the confrontation. The woman initially tried to wave them past her. ICE officers have no authority to search a US citizen or arrest her (unless there's probable cause to believe she's harboring undocumented individuals, not a contention here). A woman surrounded by masked, armed men who have no law enforcement authority over her has every right to try to escape. Video shows her steering wheel is turned to the right, clearly an attempt to leave WITHOUT hitting anyone and steer clear of the officer standing towards the front of her car. That officer had time to step to the side, which is where he was when he shot her. Even a real police officer would not have the right to shoot at her for trying to flee. This is well-established in the case law; deadly force may not be used simply to prevent someone from getting away. Given that the ICE officers had no law enforcement authority to begin with, AND the video footage shows she was trying to escape a perceived threat, not to kill anyone, the crime is all the more inexcusable. I'm praying for the victim's family, especially her children. I'm also praying for all the conservatives who are so unprincipled and lost they're excusing this terrible crime, and gloating over a death that will leave three young children motherless, because of the victim's politics.

Every congressional democrat and every democrat who's running for president should be asked a simple question: Do you think this officer was wrong in defending his life against a deranged leftist who tried to run him over? These people are going to try to arrest our law enforcement for doing their jobs. The least the media could do is ask them about it. x.com/i/status/20089…

@_CM_67_ Brits always miss the point here: in the USA the food is 20% cheaper, you're expected to pay your server the 20%, or maybe more if they were good. It seems odd, but you get excellent service everywhere in the USA because of it, and lots of terrible servers in Britain.

@needysighs Anyone able to pay a 3k bill can afford to pay 600 as a tip. That goes into the pockets of the server assistants, the hosts, and the bartender as well. I don't know why europoors are defending the choices of wealthy people who can absolutely afford to make the difference
