Attention Skiers ⚠️ An area closure is now in place for Panorama Ridge due to a denning, pregnant female grizzly bear. Human presence near the den may disturb the bear or newborn cubs and also places skiers at risk of a grizzly bear encounter. Details: ow.ly/kNqf50HGZCS.

2/2 We will continue to rate the hazard for the highest level anticipated during the day until we have a more consistent spring snowpack. The “Spring Conditions” symbol will replace the regular hazard ratings. ❄️⛰️ 👉 More information can be found at: avalanche.ca/pages/static-p…

1/2 ⚠️ REMINDER: As we transition towards a spring snowpack, the avalanche hazard will be rated the highest hazard level anticipated during the day. Backcountry users are encouraged to start and finish trips as early as possible to take advantage of the lower hazard levels.☀️⛰️

Ice skaters are reminded to check the lake ice thickness very carefully. The recommended minimum thickness for ice skating is 15 cm or 6" of solid ice Having equipment available for self rescue (PFD's, rope, ice picks) can be very useful in areas with unknown ice thickness.

We lost a very good boy last week. One of @ParksCanada’s canine members Cazz, has passed away. To say that Cazz had a full and distinguished career is an understatement. Thank you Cazz, for your service to one and all. 🐾❤️
