With @Canadadev support, our ILGRP project & @ACEPA brought CSOs to Kenya’s Parliament to shape the Social Protection Bill 2025. Their input was adopted and the bill is now law, expanding protection for more Kenyans. You can read the Committee’s final report stakeholder submissions here: parliament.go.ke/sites/default/…

Through the ILGRP project, funded by @CanadaDev, the Parliamentary Centre & @ACEPA convened a CSO working group and presented a memorandum of recommendations to the Committee on Gender, Children & Social Welfare—inputs that informed the final report to Parliament. The bill now awaits the President’s assent. #ILGRP #Ghana #SocialProtection

#ProjectImpact On July 30, 🇬🇭Ghana’s Parliament passed the landmark Social Protection Bill 2025-a milestone for social equity. The bill was shaped by extensive consultations with CSOs, ensuring citizens’ voices were heard in the process.

Earlier today, @AcepaAfrica in partnership with @parlcent, with funding from @GAC_Corporate, hosted a targeted capacity enhancement session for Members of Parliament of Ghana serving on the Committee on Education. #acepa #ilgrp #parliament #EducationCommittee #genderequality

Here’s a snapshot from yesterday’s session with Ghana’s Parliamentary Committee on Gender, Children & Social Welfare. This is one of a series of activities under the Inclusive Legislatures for Gender Responsive Policies (ILGRP) project, focused on strengthening parliamentary oversight to help ensure gender equality commitments lead to real, measurable outcomes. ILGRP is jointly implemented by the Parliamentary Centre and @ACEPAfrica, with funding from @CanadaDev .

In 2022, @ParlCentre and @ACEPAfrica launched the Inclusive Legislatures for Gender Responsive Policies (ILGRP) project to support partner parliaments in Ghana, Kenya & Togo. Over three years, ILGRP has worked closely with civil society organization legislative and budget processes.
