Parma Police Department

The Parma Justice Center, which includes the courts and the police records room, have power restored and will be open for business during regular hours today.

Due to utility loss caused by yesterday’s storm, the Parma Justice Center, which includes the courts and the Police Records Room will be closed today. The Parma Police 24 hour front desk will remain open.

The traffic lights at the majority of the traffic intersections in the entire city are not working due to utility loss. Motorists are reminded that these intersections should be treated as a four way stop.

Due to the earlier storm, the following intersections are closed because of downed power lines, motorists should avoid these areas: W. Ridgewood Drive and South Canterbury State Road and Orchard Park Drive Fernhill and W.84th

We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the men and women of the Euclid Police Department on the loss of Officer Jacob Derbin. He and his family and the entire the department are in our thoughts and prayers. Rest in Peace Officer Derbin.

Please come out today between noon and 8 pm to the Giant Eagle at 1825 Snow Rd. in Parma to help support the Parma Police Department’s 22nd Annual Food Drive. We accept non-perishable food and cash donations. All donations go to the Parma hunger center.

Please avoid the area of Hauserman Road between Snow Road and Brookpark Road. Officers are on scene at Hauserman Road and Deborah Drive handling a serious traffic accident. The road will be shut down for several hours.

***Road Closed Again at State Rd. at W. Ridgewood Dr.*** Please avoid the area of State Rd. and W. Ridgewood Dr. as crews are back repairing a previous water main break. The road is currently shut down and we will provide an update when new information is available.

**Update to the water main break at State Rd. and W. Ridgewood Dr.** State Rd. has been opened back up, but it only allows for one lane of traffic NB on State Rd. and also one lane of traffic SB on State Rd. W. Ridgewood Dr., just west of State Rd., remains under construction.

State Road and West Ridgewood Drive is now open.

*** Water main break on State Road at W. Ridgewood Dr.*** Please avoid the area of State Road and W. Ridgewood Dr. as crews are on scene handling a water main break. The road is currently shut down and we will provide an update when new information is available.

***Traffic Update*** Brookpark Road, which was previously shut down eastbound between State Road and Broadview Road, is open again.

*** Traffic Advisory*** The EB lanes of Brookpark Rd. between State & Broadview are currently shut down. CEI is on scene replacing a utility pole. There are wires down in the area and it will take most of the evening before the eastbound lanes are reopened. Avoid if possible.

**Update regarding the incident at Knollwood and Brookpark Rd.** Unfortunately, the 44 year old male was found deceased in his apartment. The roadway is now open.

Please avoid the area of Brookpark Rd. and Knollwood as traffic is being rerouted. SWAT is on scene dealing with a suicidal male. Details to follow.

Chief Bobak would like to thank all of those in the community as well as Gillombardo’s Giant Eagle who made yesterday’s annual food drive a great success. Because of generous donations, we donated over 1,500 lbs of food and over $3100 to the Parma Food Bank.

Chief Bobak would like to announce that the Parma Police Department will be holding its annual food drive to benefit the Parma Hunger Center later this month before the Thanksgiving holiday. The date, time, and location will be announced soon.
