When you find a single mum struggling to bring dinner home for the kids, you have to lend a helping hand! This beautiful spider wasp (i think Cryptocheilus sp.) Was struggling to drag her huntsman prey up our back fence. 1/2 #wasplove #entomology

I have LOST THE PLOT finding my FIRST PSEUDOFOENUS!! 🤯🐝 These wasps are cryptic and can be found flying low near the ground patrolling for native bee nests 😱 They’re super hard to spot so I was EXCITED for such a good wasp day in Bendigo on the first warm day of September!☀️

#BeeBDC v 1.2.0 is up with a new function, continentOutlieRs, that works the same as countryOutlieRs but should help people working on taxa without a country checklist or those not wanting to be so precise with that filter ☺️ t.ly/6ieSG

Very delayed, but I’m a couple of months into my role as a Lecturer at @UOW with @DamienEsquerre! It has been a wild couple of years but I couldn’t be more appreciative of the support from collaborators, friends, and potential employers. Here’s to renewed native bee research!

Wasp mystery. What are these eddying swirls of male Ichneumonid wasps doing? Two days running, dozens of these guys just bumbling about a callistemon.

Eight new Pacific masked bees just dropped 🐝! What’s really cool about these bees is that (i) they’re mostly restricted to forest canopies, (iii) prefer for red flowers, and (ii) resolve how Hylaeus tuamotuensis got to French Polynesia! 1/16 t.ly/qiTh0

What a treat! Spotted this stunning Ghost wasp, Gasteruption fluviale, searching the base of a massive redgum here in Adelaide for host nests. I love the elegant long neck and those cute orange-tipped antennae of this species. #wasplove #entomology #adelaideadventure

I'm super excited to share the first chapter from my PhD! We examined 14,000 online advertisements to discover which pet birds Australians are interested in, what traits make them popular, and how this relates to the risk of new invasive species 💻🦜🔍 rdcu.be/dtNsV

Meet Gasteruption cylindricum, one of the more unique ghost wasps. Just like its species name suggests, the cylindrical body shape is perfectly designed to slip into old wood borer holes where its Euryglossinae bee hosts nest. They look out of this world in flight! #wasplove
