Abide In The Source of The I-THOUGHT: Q: How can I control the mind? M: The mind is intangible. In fact, it does not exist. The surest way of control is to seek it; then its activities will cease. Seek the mind. On being sought, it will disappear. The mind is only a bundle of thoughts. The thoughts arise because there is a thinker. The thinker is the ego. The ego, if sought, will vanish automatically. The ego and the mind are the same. The ego is the root thought from which all other thoughts arise. Dive within. You are now aware that the mind rises from within. So sink within and seek. You need not eliminate the wrong 'I'. How can 'I' eliminate itself? All that you need to do is to find its origin and abide there. That is as far as your efforts can extend. Then the Beyond will take care of itself. You are helpless there; no effort can reveal it."' Our analyses are ended, that is, so far as the intellect goes, but they are not enough. Eliminating the 'not I' is not enough. The process is only intellectual. The truth cannot be pointed out directly, hence the process. Now begins the real inner quest. The 'I'-thought is the root to be sought now at its source. vi-13. Self is dependent on nothing and is unlimited. The law of cause and effect touches It not. How can the intellect, which operates only in duality, and which is perishable, discern It?

Truth is not a reward for good behavior, nor a prize for passing some tests. It cannot be brought about. It is the primary, the unborn, the ancient source of all that is. You are eligible because you are. You need not merit truth. It is your own. Nisargadatta Maharaj

The mind is like a lens. Through it, ultimate reality appears distorted as many names and forms. Let the mind and senses fall completely still, and the ultimate alone will shine forth. Or let the mind do what it does. What is real never changes. The distortions were never real.

The problem arose at the level of the mind, and it will be resolved at the level of the mind. The Light needs nothing at all—it is eternally free. 2/2.

The 'I' is a passing show, illumined by the Absolute Light. Do not focus on its desires, sorrows, worries, or even its longing for liberation—focus on the Light in which the 'I' is revealed, and the 'I' will dissolve. 1/2

297. Do not wander outside, eating the scorching sand of worldly pleasures, which are non-Self; come home to the Heart where Peace is shining as a vast, everlasting, cool shade, and enjoy the feast of the Bliss of Self.

To say it is—is wrong, and to say it is not—is also wrong. It lies beyond thought, image, word, or any conception. All separation is apparent. The seer and seen were always one. 2/2.

When all that is seen is quiet, the seer alone remains. Even when the seen returns, the fragrance of the seer lingers. Yet, to label it as the seer is already a limitation. 1/2

The Real is not a state of something else — it is not a state of mind or consciousness or psyche — nor is it something that has a beginning and an end, being and not being. All opposites are contained in it — but it is not in the play of opposites.

You are that in which all things seem to be born and to die. While their birth may appear real, the question of your death is flawed. You remain eternally as the source of all things, yet are without a source yourself.
