🎂 I volunteer to bake birthday cakes for kids in Foster Care/shelters This girl turning 4 asked for an Elsa cake I tried sugar work and it turned out so cute! I had 3 mini heart attacks and 1 existential crisis while breaking those sugar glass shards but LOOK AT THIS CAKE!

Today is the 33rd anniversary of the day the IRA bombed Warrington town centre and killed my son Tim and 3 yr old Johnathan Ball. Words can never describe how losing a child leaves a huge hole in your heart and your family. Eternal love Tim ❤️❤️

Now I'm 64: The Pension always arrives on the 20th-even better when the Spring Equinox also falls on this date. Good weather continues. I enjoyed a walk into Carnoustie, to pay in my birthday cheques! As well as the cake, we had curry for tea. Best of all, my grandson sang to me.

I'm really disappointed with the BBC for giving barely any coverage to today's annual #CommonwealthDay Service at Westminster Abbey. As our national broadcaster, they have a responsibility to cover the Royal Family as an institution of national significance.

On this day of all days, #IWD2026, it feels fitting to sing the praises of this extraordinary book, read magnificently by Emma Thompson. If you’ve yet to read it, please do. It’s horrifying, yes, but also subtle, nuanced and full of rich observation. Gisèle Pelicot’s strength, courage and basic human decency ring out from its pages - as does the grotesque misogyny of her courtroom experience. Over and over again, scores of rapists seriously sought to use as their defence the claim that the lifeless form being abused on video ‘wanted’ it, ‘consented’ to it, ‘enjoyed’ it, and in truth was such a slut and whore she clearly didn’t count as worthy of human respect anyway. A judge even tried to ban the word ‘rape’ from the courtroom. Throughout it all, her refusal to be cowed - and her insistence that shame must change sides - were, and remain, utterly inspiration. Thank you, Gisèle Pelicot.
