Grand Ave. and Del Rosa Dr. Human rabies cases have not been reported, and the overall risk to the public remains low. PPHD urges the public to exercise caution around bats. At Cheesesteaks by Matū, they serve cheesesteaks and only cheesesteaks. And that's because the founders, who are also behind the widely popular HiHo Cheeseburger and Matū Kai steakhouse are dedicated to creating the perfect cheesesteak. From the bread they source to the way they raise and procure their own wagyu beef, this restaurant is a love letter to the East Coast classic. Check out our interview with co-founder Scott Linder for more. 📍625B East Colorado Blvd.

Pasadena Water and Power (PWP), effective this week, will begin its annual utility pole inspection program with work continuing through June 30. Inspections will be conducted by PWP’s authorized contractor, Osmose Utility Services Inc. Most inspections will take place in zip codes 91103, 91104, 91105, and 91107. To complete required inspections, Osmose crews may need to access private property to reach utility poles located along back property lines. All Osmose employees will wear company uniforms, drive clearly marked company vehicles, carry official identification, and will knock on the door before entering private property. As part of the annual program, PWP’s wooden utility poles are inspected for signs of wear, insect activity, and damage, including impacts from motor vehicles. Each pole undergoes a visual assessment and an internal soundness check. Crews will identify compromised poles and perform on-site repairs when possible. Some poles may require replacement based on inspection findings. Poles are also photographed, and their condition is documented. This proactive inspection program is essential to maintaining system reliability, enhancing public safety, reducing long-term operating costs, and minimizing unexpected power outages. For more information about the utility pole inspection and treatment program, please contact the City Service Center at (626) 744‑7311.

The Pasadena Public Health Department (PPHD) is encouraging community members who may be at risk for mpox to get vaccinated as mpox activity increases in California. Vaccination remains the best protection against severe illness. PPHD and the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) strongly encourage eligible individuals to receive both doses of the mpox vaccine. The Jynneos vaccine is safe and effective at preventing severe illness and lowering the chance of infection from both clades I and II. View the full press release at Bit.ly/CityofPasadena…

Rediscover the glee and excitement of riding a bike! Leave the car at home and see the city on two wheels during Pasadena Bike Month, from Saturday, May 2, through Sunday, May 31, 2026. The City of Pasadena Department of Transportation organizes Pasadena Bike Month with community partners Day One and Pasadena Complete Streets Coalition. This fun annual event returns to celebrate bicycling as a safe, healthy, and sustainable way to get around town. Organizers have planned free activities all month long for riders of all ages and abilities, with some events requiring reservations due to limited ride capacity. Helmets are required for youth under 18 and recommended for all ages. Bikes should be in good working order to participate, including bike lights (strongly encouraged for night events).  View the complete list of events and the full press release at Bit.ly/CityofPasadena…
