The Royal Seal of Ahmad Shah Abdali:
This seal, made of pure gold, symbolized the extensive realm of the Afghan state, stretching from Samarkand, Lahore, Delhi, Multan, Kashmir, and Bukhara to Iran and India.
With this seal, Ahmad Shah would authenticate royal decrees, tax documents, land ownership papers, commercial contracts, and formalize government decisions.
The emblem of “the wheat ear” on this seal was the official symbol of Ahmad Shah’s state. It is also present in Afghanistan’s national emblem and was used during the selection ceremonies of state leadership at the Grand Assembly (Loya Jirga) beneath the red lion.
Ahmad Shah Abdali founded the Afghan state in 1747, giving the Afghan nation a vast territory and the pride of an empire, all in pure Afghan standards.
May his soul rest in peace.
