In Pakhtunkhwa, those among the Pashto-speakers who have fraudulently claimed to be something else are usually the so-called Syeds. This is because they were exempted from taxes by the rulers, and common people tended to gift them land because of their Syed pretensions.

More than half of the Hindustani Mohajirs of Karachi claim to be of Arab descent, while the rest claim roots in Iran, Afghanistan, and Turan. No one there admits to being a convert from the lower castes of Hinduism, even though most of them look like they are.

I am a Syed & as per my belief the descendent of Bibi Fatima(SA).She was my genealogical mother irrespective of my faith & belief.Demolition of her mausoleum is my personal disgrace & I have the right to at least hate those who did it. Me & my generations to come will do the same

This is a word salad and nonsense. The Khyber (of Pakhtunkhwa), which is always spelled as such, is clearly a tribute to the Khybar near Medina in Arabia. The Ali Masjid in the Khyber Pass, whose historical mentions are as old as the Khyber itself, is also tied to Islam.
Farhad Ariana,MD@ariana_farhad

Awestan in Ariana Afghanistan The tern “khayber خیبر” stems from the Avetan compound term 𝘅ᵛ𝗶 𝗯𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗶 (خْوی بَرایِتی)that is a compound noun conjoined . The term is not Arabic. Avestan Aryans in Ariana(آریانا) dwelling in the mountains and valleys created footprints and paths as passages to ascend and descend while carrying goods. In the compound term xᵛi baraiti🔄khy-ber:خیبر ⏹️𝘅ᵛ𝗶 is a root and insinuates the meaning of ▪️apart, ▪️asunder, ▪️separate Zamyad Yasht: homely to the earth زامیاد یَشت: زامیاد زمین -ځمکه “yō xᵛarənah vīspəm yazamaide yō xᵛarənah ahurahe mazdaŋhō yō xᵛarənah aməṣ̌aŋhąm spəṇtānąm” یو خوَرِنَه ویسپَم یَزَمَیْدِ یو خوَرِنَه اَهوره مَزداَنگهو یو خوَرِنَه اَمِشَنگه سپَنتانَم 🔸 “We worship all the divine glory, the glory of Ahura Mazda, the glory of the Amesha Spentas.” ⏹️𝗯𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗶 means ▪️to carry ▪️to bring ▪️to bear Yasna 31.6 𝗮𝘁̰ 𝘃ā 𝗻ə𝗿ə̄ … 𝘆ō 𝗯𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗶 …ات وا نَرَ … یو بارایتی He who brings, carries” What xᵛi baraiti meant for the Aryans in ancient Afghan land was that they differentiated a flat and straight landscape from a winding pass passage or landscape that allowed to “carry oneself “ or a thing or load. ⤵️ خیی-بر In Dari we have numerous words that contain خی and bar that evolved from 𝘅ᵛ𝗶 and 𝗯𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗶. خوشحال → happy •خوش‌ → good-natured ‌ •خوشمزه → tasty / delicious •خوشبو → fragrant ▪️ خوند → taste / flavor ▪️خوندور خواړه → tasty food ▪️خوږ….sweet •باربر → porter, carrier •آب‌بر → water channel / conduit •خاک‌بر → soil carrier •برنده → winner (one who “takes away”) •بردن → to carry, take بربنډ → naked •برخې → parts / portions •برکت → blessing •بري → victory •برید → attack •برم → dignity / prestige #Ariana #Afghanistan #آریانا #افغانستان

The local rulers of the Margalla range were the Gakhars (a Punjabi Muslim biradari), who briefly lost control while the Sur Pashtun emperors were in power. Their main chieftain during 1750s and 1760s was Muqarrab Khan Gakhar, who had pledged allegiance to Ahmad Shah Durrani.

@Pashz7 @Tarkalani10 I always wondered how did the Pashtuns lose control of that areas. I remember Pashtuns still controlled it when Ahmad shah baba was around.

He once thundered upon the Margalla (of Islamabad) and ravaged the territory. However, he had neither cannons nor firearms. He likely would have been defeated by the Mughal Emperor Humayun, though the latter avoided his territory.

@Sultanator30234 @_shershahhkhan_ I don't know who the f* Miangul Khurram Bacha is, or whether he has any connection to the family we are talking about, but Miangul Adnan always said that his ancestor was from the Safi of Mohmand:

The Akhund of Swat was neither a 'Punjabi' nor a Gujjar. He was a Safi Pashtun, as claimed by the family itself, as well as attested by the earliest notices of him. He was mistaken for a Gujjar by Denzil Ibbetson because the Akhund herded cows in his childhood.

the assasnation also greatly damaged the repuation of a Punjabi Gujjar Sufi saint, Abdul Ghafur or Akhund of Swat who settled in Swat region, as he was the mediator and guaranteer of the meeting b/w Sayyid Ahmad and Khadi Khan.

like the Indian people to the east of the Indus River. Five years ago, I pointed out that I had not found any phrasing of Afghanistan as a "graveyard of empires" with that particular meaning in any British colonial documents, nor were Afghans themselves making such a claim 2/3

British imperialists neither invented the monikor "Graveyard of Empires" for Afghanistan in the context of the Anglo-Afghan wars, nor did they label Afghans as invincible fighters. They simply made observations here and there, one of which was that Afghans were not servile 1/3

@tufailA77 We called him out for misattribution, not mistranslation. Dalrymple was the first to misattribute the mistranslated/distorted version of 'Zakhmi' song to Khushal Khattak. The original version of 'Zakhmi' was created by a singer named Mira in the mid-19th century, not by Khushal.

Since there was nothing Pashtun about him other than the possibility of having distant Pashtun ancestors, he had to assert, 'hamary khoon may milawat nahi hay.' He changed his lineage from time to time. At one point, he claimed his ancestor was an Uzbek soldier in the army 1/2
