@Passthemoutarde Frank Foster. They had a shop in Pall Mall up until a few years ago. They still have an Instagram account. You could contact them there.
Not this time 😉
If you are standing on the Right Bank among the famous Merlot-dominated appellations, you would need to travel quite a bit farther southwest… around 9000 km away ✈️🍷

👀 Deep ruby with vibrant violet reflections at the rim. The wine feels concentrated and beautifully textured in the glass, with slow-moving legs that suggest richness, ripe fruit concentration, and careful winemaking.
👃The nose opens gradually with layers of blackberry, black plum, cassis, and ripe blueberry. With aeration, more complex notes emerge: violet petals, graphite, dark cocoa, sweet tobacco, and subtle cedar. Mineral undertones and finely integrated oak bring hints of vanilla, espresso, clove, and dark chocolate, while a delicate balsamic freshness keeps the bouquet lifted and refined.
👄 Full-bodied and beautifully structured, with a rich yet balanced palate. Layers of ripe dark fruit, black cherry, plum, cocoa, mocha, and sweet spice unfold over polished, velvety tannins. Fresh acidity keeps the wine vibrant and precise, leading to a long, savory finish marked by dark fruit, graphite, and subtle cocoa notes.

@MoutonIsAClaret See where you found the article now. There was also a Kina Lillet cocktail being shaken in Glasgow in 1922. The Henderson. Kina salesman doing a good job post WW1.
The mystery of where Ian Fleming encountered and how he came to know Kina Lillet has now been solved. Many drinks historians believed he had made an error, as Kina Lillet was not available in England when he wrote Casino Royale. However, it was available in the 1920s and 1930s.
Fleming attended Eton College between 1921 and 1926. At that time, there was a cocktail called the Old Etonian, one of whose ingredients was Kina Lillet.
When a reputation is made with a shake,
it is made with a Kina Lillet.
Hence, “shaken, not stirred.”
Newspaper clippings taken from 1925 - 1931.
Strawberries and cream. The strawberries are local. The cream I purchased at Fortnum's. Shopping there is a treat, I'd recommend it for a weekend. You've seen the bread and the eggs, but what do you suppose else was purchased? There was one item that I didn't check the price of that went through the till that made me gasped 'Oh!' it was from Spain. The assistant did say to me 'Theres an additional charge of 30 pence for the bag.' I thought, since you've wrapped each item in tissue paper.. 'Go ahead.'
@jwalkermobile Very useful thank you esp for Atlanta and NYC. One or two picks from your list for NYC for a fun, louder night out with a small group including some 20 somethings. Merci.
The restaurant is through the bakery. The venue is run by a Top Chef runner-up. Top Chef being the French equivalent of MasterChef. The wine list is impressive.
